Him spilling his heart out on a chorus is laughable? The chorus wasn't meant to be sung well. He's not a singer but he can sing much better than that. Listen to other songs off Recovery. This was just a tribute which he felt done Proof justice.

Yes it is laughable. It sounds like he made it for a child.

lol while I see why it sounds the way it does (pouring out emotion to proof, personal, etc.), the hook is what turns me away from the song and makes me rarely want to listen to it...it's just way too ear cringing and makes it the worst part of the song imo.

The hook is what divides the people who love this track, and those who hate it.

In my opinion, the hook is perfectly acceptable given what it's for. If a hook turns you off a song in hip-hop where verses are dominant aspect you should be worrying about, then it's your loss.

I like the verses. Do NOT like the hook. Say what you want, but I don't see the hook as spilling his heart out. It just doesn't sound good to me.

I love the verses especially the 2nd one but the hook kills it for me and the beat could of been alot better.

It's a very beautiful song, I don't understand why people don't like it much. I don't think Eminem have written it for him, otherwise he wouldn't put it on the album. He wanted to share it with everyone who liked Proof. A song comes to life only when it is heard by others !

It's a sad song but positive, contrary to Difficult. :y:

If that was the case, we should never have called it hip-hop coz it'd just be poetry. Melody, production, vibe and eargasm should count as well.

I like the hook and the song is great. I could really feel the emotion on this track. :y:
There's people that love me and people that hate me. But it's the evil that made me this backstabbing, deceitful, and shady.

My personal favorite song from Recovery. I listen to this daily. I absolutely LOVE it.

Still hits me everytime with the emotional second verse... Just love it. :y:

I’m not gonna stop
The saga continue, no stopping the force Obi, I’m mopping the floors
With them, I keep trying pass it, but they keep on dropping the torch
And it won’t be long til this sport is O-V-E-R
Just Blaze and me and we knocking them doors and no we
Ain’t pumpkins on Halloween but we’ll show up on your porch, so be
Careful what you say, there ain’t no punks over here so follow me
Through the fog like I’m S-N-double-O-P
Let me guide you through the smoke G
If only I wasn’t traveling down this road by my lonely
No one who knew me like you will ever know me
I don’t think you understand how much you meant to me

about this lyrics, what is he trying to say here, he wants to pass the torch to other rappers to Shady Records and they make mistakes that must be repaired.
And if they want to succeed, they will have to shut up and do what he says.
And he would have liked Proof is there to help with this work.
Or something like that?
