Relapse (my review)

A great CD, it's no TES, but it's way better than Encore, and a great comeback. He seems very laid-back on this CD. Dre's beats on here are awesome, Em himself isn't too bad either (he should do more self-producing). Anyways, let's get this started:
Image
the album starts with a skit called "Dr west", and what a great way to start off the album, by scaring the crap out of me ("Tonya" also scares the crap out of me). Insane is quite disgusting, yet entertaining, Bagpipes From Baghdad is underrated and a great track, Stay Wide Awake has some of Slim's best flow ever, Crack A Bottle is a great party song and is not as bad as people say, Must Be The Ganja is a strange, yet relaxing track, My Mom is hilarious, Underground has epic flow and I love the "A lot of people ask me" intro, Hello has a decent hook and an awesome beat,Beautiful and Deja Vu have great emotion, Old Time's Sake is a great Em and Dre track. lots of great things about the album, it's set up like a movie with the skits transitioning into the songs greatly, I would've totally been cool with a Relapse: 2. Now for the negatives: He uses that fake accent too much, Insane takes it a bit too far, and it could've been more consistent.
anyways, I recommend this CD to anyone who's ready for it.
Oh,and I forgot: Christopher Reeves spits a great verse on Medicine Ball.

Hello should get more credit than it does. I agree with your comment about it having an awesome beat and it does have a very catchy hook. Although you can't really consider them as highlights of the track. The lyricism and flow make this track superb, the former is the biggest highlight for me. Everything else about the track is still top notch.

It's a dope track but it's the most boring track in the album imo..

I'd probably give that to Crack A Bottle. I adore Hello's first verse, it's up there with some of the best since his comeback to be honest.

Relapse reminds me of old Em in many ways, which is good imo.
