Just listened again... No idea what he was thinking when he made that hook. Truly laughable.

Him spilling his heart out on a chorus is laughable? The chorus wasn't meant to be sung well. He's not a singer but he can sing much better than that. Listen to other songs off Recovery. This was just a tribute which he felt done Proof justice.

Yes it is laughable. It sounds like he made it for a child.

lol while I see why it sounds the way it does (pouring out emotion to proof, personal, etc.), the hook is what turns me away from the song and makes me rarely want to listen to it...it's just way too ear cringing and makes it the worst part of the song imo.

In my opinion, the hook is perfectly acceptable given what it's for. If a hook turns you off a song in hip-hop where verses are dominant aspect you should be worrying about, then it's your loss.

I love the verses especially the 2nd one but the hook kills it for me and the beat could of been alot better.

It's a very beautiful song, I don't understand why people don't like it much. I don't think Eminem have written it for him, otherwise he wouldn't put it on the album. He wanted to share it with everyone who liked Proof. A song comes to life only when it is heard by others !

It's a sad song but positive, contrary to Difficult.

about this lyrics, what is he trying to say here, he wants to pass the torch to other rappers to Shady Records and they make mistakes that must be repaired.
And if they want to succeed, they will have to shut up and do what he says.
And he would have liked Proof is there to help with this work.
