Awesome song, and rapping multiple bars in his mums voice is hillarious. Hook is awesome i think relapse has his strongest collection of hooks actually.

Not the best but the points that you mentioned about the song are apt. :flower:

My Mom and Deja Vu are the two best since his comeback.

My Mom DOES seem more like a traditional Eminem song, though...

Going Through Changes > My Mom.

That's a close one. Both songs have good lyricism: one makes you laugh, one moves you emotionally.

I don't care what anyone says, Going Through Changes is a really good song and I love it. But My Mom is just fucking hilarious and his rhyming and flow is smoother/more consistent on it than GTC. I'd like to know what Evan C., EminemInsider or Mike thinks is the better song.

I've been listening to My Mom more than ever recently. It's a great song and as you said, it displays fantastic lyricism.

However, I think the forth verse on Going Through Changes is unmatched by anything on that song. The rhyming on that fourth verse is solid throughout, brutally honest and in my opinion, is up there with some of his best ever verses.

Hmmm that's really hard. Both have a shit load of positives and a few small negatives

Honestly hard to seperate - probably just My Mom, by the smallest margins. I just think it's an overall more enjoyable song because of the smoother flow. I fucking love that Dre beat as well, with Em riding it like a wave.

The second and fourth verses of GTC are amazing though.

I really think that both of these verses (particularly the fourth) is unmatched by any verse on My Mom. Again, I really do like that song. Lyrically it's fantastic, sick beat and a sick flow. I just think Going Through Changes has more substance.

I didn't like this song when I first heard it, just because I was like, 'oh no not another mom song.' But I think this song is AMAZING once I get past the fact that he's talkin about his mother AGAIN. Aside from the subject matter, one cannot deny the fact that the rhyming in this song is incredible, and tells a story at the same time.

Dope rhymes + Storytelling = Classic Eminem. :y:

This song feels nostalgic to me. No matter how far-fetched the subject matter may seem, it is still awesome. Quite honestly a lot of his early songs had really far-fetched subject matter too. The beat is so cool, I love how it drops out at the end of every verse, and rapping in his mother's voice is always funny. I love the way he rhymes "nap" with "up." Definitely one of my top 5 on Relapse.
