Definitely. I hate using the word but, it's fucking
epic. Perfect word to describe it really, sounds big and 'holy' and weird lmao.
It's kind of weird, in a good way. And probably the way it is due to the fact he can't really sing but can do certain notes and so does a ridiculously high note, to get the most out of his voice in some way. And creates a kind of dark, strange, choir like chorus with it.
I didn't know it was Em at first. I remember first hearing it and thinking it was cool and big, and then I listened properly one day and noticed it was him and thought, how odd. And cool. He should do his own hooks again, sick of samples and singers doing them for him.
I think it's partially because he likes to evolve and get better and bigger, and that he probably feels rap choruses are underwhelming now, and due to the fact he can't sing properly there's only so much he can do. So he'd probably rather employ people who can sing properly to make the song bigger. But even still, wish he'd stop doing that now.
As for the song (to OP), I wouldn't say the rhymes are forced but I'd say that the thoughts are. I definitely think he tried to do a "Criminal Pt. II" with this. Problem is, a lot of the stuff doesn't resonate which is why you get this subconscious impression that it's 'forced' when you hear it (I think). As... he's being so assertive and saying these lines like they're really going to hit home but much of them are kind of arbitrary and not as funny or hard-hitting as intended. Overall I like the song. But would actually say it's
overrated. By Em fans.
