People who like Encore after all this time are fucking stupid. Seriously...maybe you liked it for a while during his hiatus (in denial) but now, in 2010? That just makes you an idiotic Super-Stan. He made the entire album high off his ass and goofy.

It has no redeeming qualities what-so-ever. His best verse is on a song that has 50 Cent and Stat Quo (song ruined). And people forget that Encore is where the infamous "accent" debuted.

I agree but saying someone who like Encore an "idiotic super-stan" is not right because at the end of the day there's people that like Encore and are Hip-Hop knowledgable people.

How can you be "hip hop knowledgeable" if you like an album that features:

-Burps and farts all over the place.

-Terms like "krunk"

-Compares his faggy beef with Ja Rule to Jay-z/Nas

-50 Cent on it 3 times

-Just Lose It

-an idiotic song with the slowest flow of all time about how Bush 'sent us to Iraq for oil yo'.

-Puke, where he whines about the tired topic of his wife, only we're treated to him singing it. Thankfully, we're also treated to the sound of a person vomiting in a toilet. :facepalm2

- Ass Like That. That one haunts me on the radio occasionally to this day...fuck.

-Crazy in LOOOOOOOOOOvvvvvve :facepalm

-One Shot 2 Shot, another crappy D12 song only the Eminem verse is not worth listening to.

-Rain Man...what in the holy fuck. Humor fail.

-The worst sound ever made by a human (or maybe even in the entire animal kingdom) the My 1st Single beat.

-Evil Deeds, he's trying to annoy us now. Head popped off, head popped head popped off, head popped off...

-Mockingbird, he's whining about how much he loves his kids again, only the sick rhyming part isn't there anymore. Hailie's Song obliterates this piece of shit millions of times over.

-Big Weenie is a title of a song on this album. I repeat, Big Weenie is a title of a song on this album.

And the whole "Imma switch in songz from da Straight From Da Lab EP instead" is such bullshit beyond belief. Encore was released a fucking YEAR after that those songs leaked. And obviously, the EP was officially released after the original leak date. "Eminem had to rush da album, he only hadz a year and a half to put it out when da original songz leaked".

Not as bad as you make it out to be though. YES it is a bad album.

But, personally Mosh is a good song, Evil Deeds is probably the best on the whole album, Crazy in Love is tolerable, and.....I like Rain Man, I know sad isn't it? :facepalm

The rest I agree with. Big Weenie is a awful to the point of suicide and My 1st Single is slighly less worse....still a total disaster.

Evil Deeds = 2/10
Terrible flow, disorganized lyrics, horrible chorus.

Never Enough = 3/10
Innocuous enough but Eminem using the cliched "ay-zee" rhyme scheme throughout his entire verse is just sad. This is the all-time king of multis and intricate lyricism...he should have been able to freestyle this verse.

Yellow Brick Road = 4/10
Third verse has some good moments but it also doesn't entirely make sense. The singing in the second verse really mars this track...which could've actually been semi-decent. At least he gets SOME of the results you'd expect from a rapper of his caliber.

Like Toy Soldiers = 3/10
Gets some credit for putting a little bit of emotion into this song, which is rare on this album...but he can't buy a multi to save his life and shows the patented Ambienem paranoia. Monotonous, predictable flow.

Mosh = 3/10
The first two bars are nice. He struggles to keep going with it, clinging for dear life, but he can't. The flow is terrible...beat sucks. The fact that he did a politically-motivated song and said such generic anti-Bush things is embarrassing. "No more blood for oil, we got our own battles to fight on our own soil"...ugh.

Puke = Negative-3/10
This is the most entertaining song on the album because of how bad it is. The puke sound effects are gross. The lyrics are hilariously awful. The singing is hilariously awful. It's an exercise in "how much can I possibly suck?"

My 1st Single = Negative-12/10
Worst beat ever conceived. The drums were made by banging a spring door stop and recording it. Repeats the awful lyrics at one point...I've listened a few times in utter amazement and that's still all I can really remember. Something about Buffalo soldiers stampeding and stuff...in a monotone as he nearly falls asleep from his 24th Ambien. I think I naturally block it out of my memory.

Ass Like That = Negative-8/10
Triumph-the-Insult-Comic-Dog = Cool. A song dedicated to him...if it were actually clever, a sober Eminem could ALMOST pull it off. ALMOST. Eminem doing a shitty impression of him = *CRINGE*. "Hip hawp" card revoked.

Big Weenie = Negative-58/10
The title alone gives him about 15 negative points or so. I've listened to this...3 or 4 times, maybe. I remember something about performing an experiment in a corny, embarrassing voice...and token embarrassing Encore jibberish. Horrible lyrics, horrible flow...he basically retroactively lost the battle with Benzino with this, I think.

Just Lose It = Negative-109/10
The single most embarrassing song of his career. The beat, "ah ah ah ah ah," the singing, the insulting reference to Lose Yourself/8 Mile (Ambienem deserved the death penalty for mentioning that in this song)...and all the other annoying shit he does on there just makes me want to vomit. This is the song where I have a hard time not dissolving my fan-ship. It's one of those things where you're not only embarrassed for him...you're embarrassed to be associated with him in any way. What if my friends see this? They know I like Eminem...this is a reflection on ME...and I want to kill myself now.

Rain Man = 2/10
Put put in a man's butt butt. Something like that? This is more laid back shittiness, though...kind of a "cool breeze" sort of suck...so it's not as offensive as the others. Still shitty...especially useless when surrounded by utter shit. Put this on a good album and it's just a change-of-pace that you don't mind too much. But on an album full of shit, every track that isn't GOOD is a waste of a spot.

Spend Some Time = 5/10
Eminem's verse was actually interesting...he sounds like he might drop dead tomorrow from the pills, but he manages to do something halfway intriguing within the "bitches and hoes" spectrum. The dead voice actually kind of adds to the emotional effect of what he's saying in a strange way, too. The multis are pretty forced in parts but at least they're obviously there...even if the syllables aren't properly aligned half the time. The other rappers, on the other hand, are obvious trash and make the song as a whole pretty useless because there's only one listenable verse on it.

Mockingbird = Negative-247/10
What makes this song so bad is he was TRYING on this one. He wanted to make a great song about something that he actually cared about at that time. And yet he basically rapped something in prose...it was like he'd go 8 bars in a row without a single rhyme...and the bars that did have rhymes at the end would be some sort of embarrassing force like "everything always happens for a rea-sennnnnnn." The chorus is God awful singing.

Crazy In Love = 3/10
Second verse has its moments of nearly semi-decent. First verse is trash. The delivery is stupid and useless. His transition to the Heart sample chorus is a "WTF?" moment...it's bizarre and scary.

One Shot 2 Shot = 0/10
Complete crap. Useless. Eminem's verse sucks. Chorus sucks. D12 was sensitive to Eminem's condition and decided not to murder him on his own shit, so they all popped some Ambiens and sucked, too.

Encore = 5/10
Beat is great. Eminem must have found a sheet of paper with some old lyrics from when he was sober to use for a little of what he and Dre rapped in the middle of this (the "popular consensus/fresh cut grass" bars and stuff). But "get it krunk" and "get yo ass up for the docta" badly mars this track.

We As Americans = 5/10
Has a few good bars but mostly mediocre. This was the first song that alerted me (when it leaked in 2003) to Eminem not quite being on his game.

Love You More = 3/10
There's a flash of brilliance in the 3rd verse of this. The rest is needless repetitive sexual vulgarity in what he obviously intended as a serious song.

Ricky Ticky Toc = 1/10
Blehhhhhhhh. They study us so they can buddy buddy us. Nuff said.

Total score :

Negative-437/190 (39 total positive points)

  Great review EminemInsider lol. Only thing I don't understand is you're basically saying Mockingbird is the worst track...true it's not nearly as good as Hailie's song but the worst on an album w/ big weenie, ass like that, my 1st single, and rain man???

That is an exaggeration....I hope lol.

Once again IMO it's not as bad as you make it out to be. The way you put it you make it sound like the worst album of all time. Is it a bad album? Yes. Do I like it? No.

Also....just because some songs don't have multis doesn't mean that it's invalidated. Sometimes multis are unnecessary in excess.

And Mockingbird is good MUSICALLY. Obviously it's not good lyrically. It's a 6/10 for me.

Personally, I would give Encore a 3.5/10

Really? I know Mockingbird isn't exactly a good song lyrically but it does have enough emotion to look over that.

Having a complex rhyme scheme in every song isn't always necessary. For you to say Ass Like That is a FAR superior song (239 points better, actually. I don't know how you worked that out) is ridiculous.

1. It's a sample. Eminem didn't create the melody so how good it might be musically doesn't matter.
2. It's a cheesy fuckin' sample too.
3. Mockingbird features those trademark crappy click-drums.

Drums are Eminem's Achilles heel, production-wise. He can come up with great, haunting melodies (The Way I Am and Cleaning Out My Closet), but these beats are brought down a little by the clicky-sounding drums.

He shines when he uses live drums. Sometimes he can nail the drums (those clap drums in 'Till I Collapse are sick) and the industrial-sounding drums in S4TM are cool as well.

I don't care what contribution Em had on the song. I just slighly like the song. And yeah I hate those click drums but the sample is fine with me.

No it isn't. Do you seriously not understand the point EminemInsider was making?

Ass Like That sucks, but Eminem was just fucking around with an accent. Mockingbird was Eminem actually TRYING to make a good song and he came out with fucking non-existant rhyming and crying about how much he wuvs his babies. How about he just TELLS THEM that shit instead of embarrassing his fans by putting out sub-par material?

Of course, he was high, so he didn't know it sucked.

Mosh is powerful? How so?

Hate to break it to you, but Eminem was kinda late to the party with the criticism of Bush and the war in Iraq. High School students in government class made more compelling arguments than that song made at the time. The criticisms Eminem made were childish and uninformed. Yeah, we totally went to war to get rich oil reserves...That's why it still costs 3-4 or more dollars a gallon in the USA every time I go to the pump. Please.

But hey, you like Puke and Ass Like That (Eminem doing an Arnold Schwarzeneggar impression yo, SICK SHIT.)

That's blasphemous. I would go as far as saying that you're the only one on the entire forum that would say such a statement.
