Totally agree. When Relapse came out, i read a lot of bad reviews of it.
Like yeah another song about his mom, we know he had trouble with her, and a lot of people didn't like it.
It's the type of songs that reminds me of the old Em, that hook is very cool. By the way, i just realise Relapse had great hooks.. (My mom, Insane, Deja Vu, Underground --> yes, i liked the hook, Stay Wide Awake, Same song and dance)

anyway, lyrics always made me smile. It's a good song, and the beat.. awesome.

Em is a fucking genius.. His three first albums were THAT great, that his own Stans/fans don't agree with which one is the best.

Then we had Relapse and Recovery .. And still. A lot of his own fans can't chose with which one is the better one. Sure, Relapse had better beats and better rhyming.. But still, Recovery content was very good.

This is one of my favorites off of Relapse and has been since I first heard it. One of my favorite beats too.

I think if most people would get over the fact of him talkin bout his mom. They would see it and take it as it is and was meant to be. Funny, catchy, and a glimpse of some truth. A weird way of telling bout his drug problems. The first lines says it all really:

My mom my mom I know you're probably tired of hearing about my mom Oh ho! Whoa ho!

I think many sleep on it too. Rhymes and multi's are great and many of em too. His flow is great. Nothing really bad to say bout this track.

On some level I think this is really a great song... But still I can't make myself listen to it a lot nowadays (even skip it sometimes when I listen through the album from start to finish).

I have to agree. This is one song that always stood out on Relapse, but one I never gave enough time when I was playing the album.

The beat is sick, story-telling is great and funny, and the one thing I always loved was his rhyming on this it's just sick...and the hooks pretty catchy/funny as well, great thread

I love it, the rhyming is really good and the lyrics are funny and interesting.

worst part of the song is in the first 20 seconds when he says "WHOA-OH!" in that whiney encore style

I always thought it was a great song but nobody else seemed to really appreciate it when Relapse came out. It's always been one of my favourites from Relapse though

I've NEVER understood the hate that this song gets. Takes me back to the SSLP days every time I listen
