Underground is underrated

Postby LordRain777 » Apr 30th, '11, 21:20

I don't understand why so many people don't like this song. The energy of this song is amazing and it has one of the best beats on the album. Of course, the song is about basically nothing but its supposed to be like that. Kinda like on fire is but you guys seem to love on fire and not underground. Underground > On fire IMO but they are both good.
There's people that love me and people that hate me. But it's the evil that made me this backstabbing, deceitful, and shady.

Those in the know claim its rhymes are "forced as fuck" How so? Guess Class or Eminembase/Emineminsider could explain.

I think its freakin awesome. Last 3 tracks on the album were my favourite and all seem pretty underated.

My favorite song on Relapse & one of the songs that got me into Eminem in the first place, definitely underappreciated.

I personally think it's overrated...the song is basically about nothing.

Definitely better than On Fire, one of the best Relapse songs. Dope hook, and the most important thing: no accent.

So are a lot of his other Shady songs, Kill You is about basically nothing same with I'm Shady, Cum On Everybody, Bad Meets Evil, Till Hell Freezes Over ect. A song being about nothing & him just spitting crazy shit doesn't make it a bad song.

Well, those songs have no point, sure, but Underground is just...randomness. In those songs, when he rhymes, it makes sense and has some sort of storytelling value. Kill You has it, I'm Shady has it, the rest have it...A lot of the lines in Underground make virtually no sense and are there just for the sake of rhyming. Underground does have storytelling and great lines, but they're mostly random. I like Underground kinda, mainly because of the delivery and beat, so I don't hate it...I just think it's actually overrated instead of underrated. There are many songs from Relapse that are better, IMO.

Yeah I became a fan in 09 after listening to Relapse, that was my introduction to horrorcore. Before that I used to listen to some pretty shitty rap. I'm proud of how much I stepped my music game up in the span of 2 years.

Yeah I get were your coming from, he just strings together random psycho acts one after the other & I can see why some people wouldn't like that even though I personally fucking love it.

I love the energy of the song. It makes it great to listen to

sadly as many people have pointed out the rhyming takes random to a whole new level. Almost no two lines string together. The rhyming is not intricate and a lot of 1 syllabelle rhyming was used

I enjoy it though
