If I Get Locked Up Tonight

Postby ArsheyHaq » Jun 24th, '11, 23:16

This was the first song to ever give me goosebumps! It actually made me fear Em haha the way he says he'll..

"have a fucking man raped with a Band-Aid over his mouth
And shove his head in a fan blade"

That made me tremble lol

Also, lines like:

"Psych I'm just joking, for Christ's sake
Don't get so bent out of shape
Cause I went out and raped six girlfriends"

"I set a fucking girl on fire with a curling iron"

"I'm sick of being judged, fuck it, let me see a judge
I'll confess to every murder I committed since three years old"

just made me wanna quit rapping cuz I'd never be as good as him. This is the kind of horrorcore vibe, I feel, Relapse was missing. He actually sounds threatening on this track, while tracks like Stay Wide Awake and Same Song And Dance just make him sound silly. Anyway, what do ya'll think of this track?

I love this track and always link it with that song with missy Elliot "buss a rhyme" I think thats what it's called correct me if I'm wrong.

And what I mean by that is Em was giving a blank canvas to go and do what he does ( or did ) best, spit with no specific concept with one thousand and one quotables.

Classic shady, oh and the beat >.

Great-ass song, especially the beat. My only fault with it is that he forces alot of rhymes, like the six girlfriends and three-years old ones.

@ Cosh, I never felt like/considered those as forced lines by him. It takes skill to hear words like that in your head, and then rhyme them.

Amazing stuff - hilarious lines with subtle touches of social commentary. Almost perfection to be honest, such a uniqe flow as well.

Best non-album song, along with Bad Influence, for me. Two of his cleverest tracks ever. The guy was such a genius, he knew how to use so many literary techniques in such a clever way.
