What is it about Recovery's content that makes it so superior? I mean, it's not like there is any revolutionary stuff on it... The genius concept of LTWYL (the best song on the album) is the exception. Other than that, what? There is a lot of emotion.. but.. and? What about it? Relapse is the most interesting of the albums to me.. man, talk about creativity.

LTWYL the best song on Recovery? I know it's just an opinion but come on dude. I do like the song, but it's not the best.

I mean if you're looking for concepts, Almost Famous is a pretty good example.

What was "revolutionary" about Relapse?

Nothing. That's the point. Neither of their subject matters are exactly 'amazing'.

Compared to Relapse, what Eminem was saying on Recovery IS revolutionary.

Okay.

Probably not "revolutionary", but it's an extremely original and innovative album, surely you'd agree. It's nothing like even SSLP, even though even Eminem himself was presenting it that way.

Because I like the serious Eminem more than the jokey one. It's my personal preference. I think anyone who likes The Eminem Show the best out of all his albums likes Recovery more than Relapse. The SSLP/MMLP people like Relapse more. It's something I've noticed on this forum. Of course, it doesn't have to be so black and white, and it's all down to personal preference

Nah I think I've come to like TES at least as much as MMLP and more than SSLP. But the content of TES is a lot more interesting than the content of Recovery. On TES, he is actually SAYING something - Recovery has nothing like, for instance, White America or Sing For The Moment (imo, of course).

The biggest difference is that Relapse just 'feels' like an Eminem album. Like it or dislike it, it's him rhyming his ass off over Dre beats. I think that's why when it leaked I was so elated after being starved for so long. Recovery was the opposite, initially I thought it sucked (Not Afraid and Talkin' 2 Myself were the first songs I heard)) and slowly but surely started liking it more and more. The reason being that it doesn't sound like an Eminem album, so it took a while to get used to it.

Also, the rhyming on Relapse is waaaaay more consistent than it is on Recovery.

Not a lot of people hate on Relapse at all. I don't hate on Relapse, but I prefer Recovery. Relapse is an amazing album, and so is Recovery, I just like Recovery a little better. That's how a lot of people on here feel. There's a good number who feels the opposite, though

Man. I'm honestly on the fence.

I LOVED Relapse, even when people hated it as soon as it came out. Stay Wide Awake, Beautiful, Deja Vu, Insane, Old Time's Sake, My Mom, Must be the Ganja... so many I loved on there.

Recovery I loved as well, because I saw this as Marshall Mathers with a bit of Eminem in it.

At the moment, I love Relapse a bit more than Recovery. Tomorrow, probably Recovery. It's more of a "How I'm feeling at the moment" thing.

I can definitely see why people prefer Recovery though.

Oh, if Recovery had Dre's production, I would think many people would choose Recovery over Relapse imo.

I'm pretty sure the main reason I like Relapse more is the production. Recovery to me doesn't feel like an Eminem album cause half the beats are generic as fuck and lack any sort of creative flair to it. Relapse's beats are catchy and memorable, and Em seemed so much more natural on it.

LOL, LTWYL wasn't made TO be a radio hit, even though I'm fairly sure while making it they figured it would be a single. It has a purpose and meaning
