No they are indie, the music needs to have some mainstream appeal to be concidered. Nas and Damians album was released under a major label and sold close to 100k thats mainstream appeal. slaughterhouse released their album under an indie label and had as good as zero airplay...

True, but they are still mainstream artists in the medias spotlight (doing successfull tours with gigs at huge overseas festivals) which means they would have been considered for nominations.

Who cares that Arcade Fire had a better album. Seriously, think about it.

The New England Patriots were the best team this year, yet in 10 years no one will remember the 2010 Patriots but everyone will still know the 2010 Green Bay Pakcers.

Same thing with Album of the Year. Arcade Fire might have, technically, had the best album, but in ten years, Recovery will still be talked about while The Suburbs won't be. Simple as that, the biggest and most influential albums are not necessarily the best albums.

Eminem should have won the award. It was the album of the year, everyone was talking about it, it was disgustingly huge (got to the point to which I hated it.) How is it NOT the album of the year?

The suburbs, I heard about them 2-3 weeks and then nothing else.

i was forced to download this Arcade Fire's album just to know whats special about it,and after listening to it i've concluded that Em got fuck in the ass by these grammy punks,

I do listen the alternative rock music,but this is the worse i've listen to,this album can only be enjoyed by hardcore fans of the genre,which IMO makes it less worthy of winning Album of the year.
