I agree, those guys are legends, but I still stand by what I said, which is that Em is a great produced and underrated. He is not one of the best ever, but he has more then 10 great beats. i would say a lot of his beats are good, the melodies of them I enjoy.

Havoc is dope.

But DA forgot one of the best ever, my personal favorite, J. Dilla/Jay D. The Light is an incredible beat. He HAS a great catalog too.

I would also say

Just Blaze
Alchemist
Swizz Beatz- underrated, but his different instrumentation in his beats, I love that. he's not boring

and I'm probably forgetting a bunch others. I like a lot of producers. But Song Cry is a great beat by JB, one of my faves as well.

I gotcha. Good info. Luis Resto is a great assistant producer to Em, that's probably why he chose him to go instead of himself, to the Oscar's, besides the fact he thought he wouldn't win.

Luis Resto is to Eminem is what Mike Elizondo is to Dre, and what Storch used to be to Dre early 98/99ish, along with Mel-Man. Elizondo is nice.

Irony is that Em probably stopped producing because all people did was complain about it

Now that he works with other producers people complain that he doesnt sound right with them and that he needs to go back to his own beats & Dr. Dre

No wonder Em doesnt use the internet, lol, one days worth of hearing all the conflicting opinions and he'd probably crack a laptop over his head.......

"Eminem, your beats fuckin suck!!!!!!!!"

"Eminem, make your own beats again!!!!!"

"Eminem go back to the Slim shady shit again you boring motherfucker!!!!!"

"Eminem, stop doing the Slim shady shit, what are you 12 years old motherfucker!!!!!"

"Eminem, dont sing your own hooks, there awful!!!!!"

"Eminem, stop letting all these bitches do your hooks!!!!!!"

"Eminem, you need to Sign Slaughterhouse and put some real MC's On!!!!!!

"Eminem, drop slaughterhouse there the most boring group ever!!!!!"

"Eminem stop screaming your lyrics and flow like the SSLP again!!!!!

"Eminem, you sounded like a whiny High pitched big bird on the SSLP!!!!!'

Etc etc etc

Within a day he'd probably throw the laptop at a wall or summin, lol

I don't think he's underrated at all. His production game is crazy and everybody knows it.

I would have to respectfully disagree. I don't know a lot of people that listen to hip hop that ever mention Eminem as a great producer whenever I ask them about his beats/production. To add to that, a friend of mine said he doesn't even think of Em as a producer: just a rapper who makes beats.

Well yeah. Eminem is awesome as a producer, but his lyrical skills are untouchable. It's like how Michael Jordan was an awesome baseball player, but nobody ever thinks about that when they think Michael Jordan.

Moment of Clarity's beat is awesome. I really like Ghetto Gospel and Runnin (Dying to Live) is fantastic. A very underrated producer, I hope his next album is majority self-produced.

That was a horrible example. MJ was a horrible baseball player. And I disagree, the parallel between Em & his production skills in comparisons to MJ in basketball & baseball are ahead of the race.

He's made way more than '10 fantastic beats' though.

If you look at Dre for example, 2Pac and others have said sometimes he would come in and literally change one or two things and get full credit.

Em has always been involved in his production to the point of coming up with melodies for the Bass Bros to play, from his head. That's more than Dre would often do.

He was responsible for some of the best beats on his first three albums. And on The Eminem Show, nearly all of them. And I'd say that's his best produced album too.

He's a brilliant producer.

To be fair it's not only Dre that gets credit where he perhaps doesn't deserve. Eminem could also be guilty of claiming credit for beats that weren't necessarily done solely by him, or for beats where he just added the finishing touches. Here's an example where Easy Mo Bee is being interviewed and talks about Runnin'.

From around 5:50 in he says "Eminem said he produced the song, but he didn't say it properly - he should've said he remixed the song, but Easy Mo Bee originally produced the song..." and goes on to talk about the original concept of the track:

http://allhiphop.com/stories/features/a ... 12209.aspx

I've heard of other occasions where Em has been credited as producer when he had nothing/little to do with the production of a beat, such as Lloyd Banks' Fire. The producer Kwame mentions it here:

"Everyone thought that Eminem produced the track," explained the producer. "I understand that because of Eminem's stature. It was frustrating, but when Lloyd started doing press he really acknowledged me as the producer."

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/149200 ... fire.jhtml

Anyway, this post wasn't meant to imply that Em isn't a dope producer; rather just to be fair that it's not only Dre who can sometimes receive all the credit for beats he added very little to.

This.
He should start to produce more again
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.
