And I agree with nearly everything said after the OP. Lots of good points. It's not like Em is a bad disser but got a win simply because the others are so terrible. Em is vicious when he's pissed off.
Not necessarily. I mean 50 & Em together both destroyed Ja Rule's career, but Limp Bizkit continued making pretty good music after that. Of course they had their hiatus, but it wasn't Eminem related. Also, Benzino was horrible to begin with, & yet we still hear his bitch ass talk shit on Em & Slaughterhouse nowadays., but oh well.
& overall, even though he's had crappy opponents, Em is one of the best diss artists in hip hop, ever. Girls was really good, but my 2 favorites were the 2 aimed at Benzino, with whom he fuckin destroyed, not that he Benzino's career was launching off anyways, but just picked him apart like somebody else here said.
I would say Em is probably the 2nd best disser ever, next to 2pac. 2pac got real down & dirty, and just destroyed people, didn't matter if they had a medical condition (Prodigy), they were a huge artist like himself at the time (Biggy), or an underground artist not as known (Chino XL, even though he really didn't diss him, still gave him publicity). People are going to say, well what about Nas? Well Nas probably has the 2nd best diss record ever with Ether, but honestly, he didn't even want to do a diss song at first, & he is only really known for that one, despite its success.
