Style of new album?

Postby rockbottom » Aug 14th, '13, 10:11

So while the wait continues, I'd be interested in all your thoughts regarding what his new album will sound like. Obviously this is a huge stab in the dark - he always changes it up so much and it's been three years. Plus he doesn't really have anything significant to rap about, which hasn't happened for a long time.

So maybe list first of all what you want the album to sound like - and then what you think the album will sound like.

I'm cheating, and only listing what I want. Only because I have absolutely no fucking idea what it might end up like.

Anyway, I'd like a Relapse style album with different subject matter and no accents. Dre and Eminem beats, limited features (except Cole or Kendrick). A story-driven album similar to GKMC would be cool (potentially about his whole life/career?). I'd also like a couple of real old school beats in there - almost Infinite style. That definitely won't happen though.

Somewhere in between Relapse and Recovery. I think it will be a step below Relapse

hes still stuck in his yelling phase so it may be harder to tell a story like his classics

itll basically be Recovery 2 with a couple features that might make u forget its similarity

Same as Recovery.

Eminem has never intentionally changed his style since hitting mainstream...unless you count getting off pills and trying to stop sucking, or dropping the accent for Recovery.

It's just that his voice kept deepening, and people thought he was doing that intentionally.

This album is going to prove that Eminem only tries to keep doing the same thing.

Yeah because the only thing different about SSLP and MMLP is his voice
