Rock Bottom/Going Through Changes

Postby ShadyxEminem » Oct 19th, '13, 04:29

Which song do you feel sorrier for Em in?

Rock Bottom(SSEP) You basically had a guy with nothing left. He had gotten fired, and lost in the Rap Olympics. Hailie's birthday was also around the corner, if I'm not mistaken. He was basically on the verge of suicide.

Then you have

Going Through Changes, where he talks about that rough 06-07 time period. Lines like "woke up in the hospital, full of tubes" always get to me man :'( He talks about how he was debating suicide (again). Every time I listen to GTC it reminds me of how lucky we are to have another Eminem album.

I know this sounds a but soft, but I just listened to GTC.. Song is depressing :(

Anyway, which one is more depressing to you guys?

What about no apologies. He basically says that he no longer feels loved and is disconnected from the world. Honestly I too feel grateful that he is still upon us. We lost Pac who was the greatest rapper ever. But Eminem has definitely filled those shoes as the next greatest rapper to ever go down in history.

Rock Bottom

'Hailie Wants To Throw The Ball But I'm Too Stressed To Play'

That line sounds sorrier enough it's like damn, she wants to play but she doesn't know what's up with life at the time, and he was depressed cause life wasn't bringing him shit to support both of them.

Definitely Rock Bottom. Although Beautiful and When I'm Gone especially are much more sad in my opinion.

Well, yeah Difficult and Beautiful would be more depressing. I didn't pick them because they were written during his fucked up period. His mind probably (I don't know) wasn't that "clear" from the pills, and the fact that proof died. Difficult is definitely his most depressing song to me.

I also read that there was no hook because Proof was suppose to be there or something :'(

Difficult is the saddest fucking thing ever, along with Rock Bottom and IBR. GTC may be great, but he was obviously in a good place while writing it.
