Bump. Fucking bump.
I love Relapse but I have to admit to being guilty of something I suspect most of us do, dismissing it as just great rhyming. It's like the difference between reading J.K Rowling's Harry Potter and then going through some Cormac McCarthy in a similar manner, and I suspect I have always treated Relapse like the former.

So I'm going back to listen, I've still got about a week 'till MMLP II drops.
Props StayWideAwake, for the great find.

Brilliant article. Thanks for sharing.
"So one last time, I’m back
Before it fades into black and it’s all over
Behold the final chapter in the saga,
Trying to recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle twice
The magic that started it all
Tragic portrait of an artist tortured
Trapped in his own drawings
Tapping the thoughts
Blacker and darker than anything imaginable
Here goes a wild stab in the dark
As we pick up the last Mathers’ last art"

That was a great read. I wish everyone who listened to em had to read that article. He truly is a modern day poet, who just happens to be the best rapper (IMO of course) of all time. When you combine those two skills, it truly is a pleasure to listen to, and is almost (if not definitely) addicting.

On a side note, it's funny that this article made its way on to these boards the same time that someone else started a thread about how music critics can't understand rap music and won't talk about rhyme schemes. This guy just nailed it.

Great read. Thanks for posting
