Jay hasn't released an album better than mediocre/average since American Gangster, and Magna Carta was his worst album since Kingdom Come. It literally sounded like Jay phoned it in, was not passionate about anything he was saying, and was saying the same shit he's been saying for years in the same fucking way he's been saying it for years.

MMLP2 is a very good album, with only a few missteps here and there, and if you factor the bonus cuts in, there's no debate whatsoever. Em is still rapping with incredible wordplay and passion, Jay is saying he's got money for the millionth time, in a not very interesting way.
