None

Just pointing out that the story King Cole portrayed on that song is similar to a experience Em went through but they went two oposite ways

EDIT: To me i'm just done with Em feat *insert popstar name here*

After consistently getting your ass kicked, you go with the "just my opinion" shit. I usually stay out of these, but you are one stubborn and ignorant fucker.

Em has worked with Rihanna, P!nk, and Nate Ruess. That's not exactly every pop star out there.

Furthermore, what the fuck is the issue with having someone on the hook who can ACTUALLY sing? Pop =/= shit just like underground =/= good.

Em's never been overly friendly with other rappers like Kendrick and Tech are. Even though he did work with more rappers back in the early 2000 period, he had barely any on his albums. SSLP had a feature from the dude who basically jumpstarted his career and one of his closest friends. MMLP had more features, but aside from RBX and Sticky Fingaz, they were all from his own small circle of friends. Eminem Show had one from his labelmate in an effort to promote him and his own personal rap group.

I think Interscope would let him know if they are worried about not having the right singles, but Eminem has been through the process so many times that he anticipates what they want so they don't even have to tell him. After MMLP, he was cognizant of the fact that he needed to have a more upbeat single somewhere in the mix.

This
He likes popstars because they sing the hook and get the fuck out.
But .... also commercial songs should sound like eminem songs. The monster, for example, sounds like a Rihanna's song... the vibe, the beat, the hook. It doesn't fit the album imo. Stan hook is sung by a popstar (also if it wasn't written for that song) but the whole song is authentic slim shit. The monster was clearly produced to sell :y:
I really don't know why he doesnt like to cooperate with other rappers, it would be dope

well, romdonumba9 has better lyrics and more hood reputation, I also believe what he says more so than eminems lyrics, rondonumbanines flows are also really complex and theyre always never seen before flows

Horse wrote:i think eminem is making the music he wants to make. i don't think interscope generally tells him what to do. i just wish it was a bit less ... commercial, i guess. relapse wasn't a very commercial album, and then he went in the exact opposite direction with recovery. mmlp2 was a very big step in the right direction, but i wish he'd stop working with pop stars as often and work with more respected rappers. i mean, it's a decent song, but shit, did we really need the monster? the kendrick feature is dope, but i wish there were other MCs on there too, and i wish he'd do features for rappers more often, maybe work with nas and some underground guys. we know he's a fan of these guys, so i wish he'd get with them and make some dope music. i really hoped he'd go indie after mmlp2 fulfilled his interscope contract, but that's not gonna happen.

number of times em has worked with rihanna: 4
number of times em has worked with nas: 0

Eminem likes Rihanna and wants to make songs with her.

Eminem likes Nas but doesn't want to make songs with him.

It really is as simple as that.

The decisions to have Rihanna record the most generic hooks over the most generic beats...all poor decisions by Eminem.
