Lived a diffrent lifestyle lets say he was flashy and liked to Rap about typical things like cars, designer clothes and lets assume instead of having trouble with drug addiction he actually sold drugs himself and Rapped about that


It wasn't forced it really represented him as a person not to say that was the only thing that defined his characteristics but it was apart of him with his talents as a Writer, Emcee, Lyricist do you think Rapping about those things he would have some of the fans he does now?



Not saying that would be all he Rapped about he would still have his records his daughter, family, struggles but he also Rapped about money, cars, selling drugs like T.I., Camron etc do how do you think his career would be diffrent?

I probably wouldn't be a fan. Songs about his family aren't the majority, so I probably wouldn't know about them, or care much. If he was known for rapping about money, cars, etc. I would probably have 0 interest in him.

How about the songs that are obviously fictional? Would they be around? Like, I don't think anyone outside of prison goes around slaughtering people and raping lesbians like a lot of the Relapse songs.

I have a feeling that if Eminem stayed with the image he had 2004-2006, this type of shit would have happened. He would have started to go further down the 50 Cent/G-Unit route, leaving behind his Detroit roots and becoming just another rapper, not a real artist who had something else. He woulda lost over half his fanbase as well.

NO i said he would at a core have a lotta the same records like The Eminem Show the same records about his daughter and things like poverty. Had the same style of expressing emotions and could also make people laugh.


But if he made Songs about selling drugs and money not based on anything aside from the fact he would have experienced that and his persona was that he did like flashy things would that put a lotta his fans of his Music?

See it wouldn't have been an image thing i'm saying if Em's life was diffrent if he choose the path that a lotta poor teens do from the enviroment he grew up and decided to sell drugs cos he wanted nice things that his mother couldn't affoord so he started to hustle and naturally his persona was that he just like luxery things by nature. And this aspect of his life lets say was always expressed in his Music cos that was just how he was.

This thread made me think. What if Eminem was born as a girl? Then probably Proof should be a girl too, so that they could be best friends. See, if Proof was a dude, their friendship would end because Proof would fuck Em eventually and break his heart. But then Dre would also have to be a girl to discover Em. We don`t want him to break Em`s heart also. And Jimmy Iovine too, cause Em would be at Chick Rap Olympics, and no dudes are allowed there.

Honestly I do not think I and many others would be fans at all if it would have given his style a more generic approach like that. In order to come up in a black music genre and being white he needed something that separated himself from the crowd or he would have been seen as a poser even if it really was who he was. He needed slim shady just to get peoples' attention.

Now if he had fully embraced this hustling lifestyle Im not sure he would have been able to come up with or carry out the slim shady rapping style as well as he did. It obviously would had to have changed him a lot as a person and as an artist. He'd still be influenced by the detroit horrorcore scene like was already pointed out, but I dont know if he would have been able to fit into the whole thing nearly as well as he did. It took some special circumstances and unique artistry to bring Em up to where he was. My guess is that with a drastic lifesyle change like that it would not have happened the way it did and none of us would know who he is.

Heck, I think a better quesrion to ask if where do you think Eminem would be if he never broke out with The Slim Shady LP? Still underground making music? Quit rap altogether and work a lower middle class 9 to 5 job?

Off topic: just a thought and I don't give a fuck if you guys don't agree, but I think a big part of his falling-off was because of 50. The lifestyle, the beefs and the drugs....a lot to consider
