I agree. He is a better artist than any of those guys could ever dream off yet confins himself to a rapper now. Maybe he wants that rapper credit which has been diminishing since godknows when. After that cypher no one could argue against his talent.

Yeah, I understand what you mean. Em's really a hit and miss with wordplay and punches. If he just focused on getting his message across, that'd be perfect.

Even on songs like "Patiently Waiting" he wasn't saying dumb things like:
Eminem wrote:They think they're crazy but they ain't crazy, let's face it
Shit, basically they're just playing sick
IN OTHER WORDS, they ain't sick and they're just shit
Spray 'em Fif!

Dre stamped me now I'm stamping Yelawolf be ready for the most competitive
Clique in the world it's like Clash Of The Titans
I'm releasing the cracker it's time to set it again
And when it's said and it's all done
None shall ever fuck with this squadron
So come on in, at your own risk
This is (Our House) Bitch!

This is the best part of his verse. The delivery on this is probably the best I heard from him recently.

Yep.

Honestly; I think Recovery would be a classic to me if he produced it all.

You can tell even when you hear "Not Afraid" done with a live band on Letterman; it suddenly becomes a whole world better song. And I never used to be a 'production guy' or care about it as much as I thought I did; but it's only because his beats used to be fucking awesome.

I've been forced to focus on production recently, as a fan, due to how fucking awful some of it is and how these hacks are slaughtering otherwise classic Em tracks.

Recovery has some truly incredible heights, and not a single song is actually a throw away to me. But imagine all those same songs with top-to-bottom, consistent Em production with rich, textured, musical beats that matched his flows and created a cohesive sound... wow.

Dre fucking outdid himself with Relapse too. I always used to go on about how overrated Dre is but man, the beats he made for that album were spaz-unique amazing as was Em's style, as were his flows. The matching of those beats to that style... Relapse reeks of CLASSIC to me, but the tracks which ruin it are so prominent that the album just can't settle as one in my mind.

I am fucking convinced RX2 would have been mind-blowing.

"Buffalo Bill" :flutter: :flutter: :flutter: , 'in my trash'... fucker.

Fuckin'...isn't it funny how the only Dre produced track on the album was so fuckin' smooth? It just felt so...clean, compared to something like...LTWYL. Fuck Alex, I hate him very much.

Lmao.

Yep, I sincerely hope Alex painfully dies of human body aids, slowly. Or some kind of cancerous spread of cancery cancer; something to eat away at his skin (and soul). Fucker.

Seriously fucking despise his beats lmao; they're just bland, irritating noise.

Simplicity is the key to beats for me, you need to be able to hear a clear rhythm or sound or it's just annoying. That's why Dre's are always good because they're crisp, clean and clear and there's a definitive sound there; it's not a random assortment of noise. Same with Em's beats (which I prefer), when you think of like "The Way I am", you can hear that song, that melody.

Where as, when I think of the production of Alex (and others on Recovery) I think...

He could do better, and it's pretty obvious he can rap like he did on The Warning if he wants to, he simply...doesn't.

I think during the Relapse 2/Recovery sessions was when we were getting some great verses. Relapse 2 coulda been such a classic, it saddens me we'll never hear it.

He had one goal or theme on the warning, that was to publicly destroy Mrs cannon. Which he executed very nicely indeed.

Otherwise, the track isn't all that. Em obviously dumbed down the flow so any listener would easily grasp what he was saying.

Dre's beat was quite simply dull. So yeah, I don't understand the overwhelming love for this diss track.

Eminem needs to stop collaborating with pop stars. He said himself that he didn't want to be put in the same category as them. If I hear another Eminem ft Bruno Mars track, Im going to lose my mind.
Let your hair down to the track, yeah kick on back
Boo!, the boogie monster of rap, yeah the man's back
With a plan to ambush this Bush administration
Mush the Senate's face and push this generation
Of kids to stand and fight for the right to say something you might not like
This white hot light that I'm under, no wonder I look so sunburnt

Glad you made this thread because I've felt for a while that all of Shady 2.0, including Royce, Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf have barely done anything positive for Eminem. They're all so infatuated with being the lyrical GOATS but their content is largely boring. He made a (in my opinion) fairly poor EP for the benefit of Royce, he had one of the worst verses he's ever done on Yela's album, and made Lighters. All because of Shady 2.0. At least with 50 cent and Obie they made some classic material. I don't think he's done anything classic with Royce, Slaughterhouse or Yela.

And yes, I too am a pretty big Slaughterhouse fan and a huge Joe Budden fan. But that doesn't take away from the fact that Em's creativity is being limited being surrounded by rappers that are 100% about the lyrics but let's face it, will NEVER blow up or create anything ground-breaking. I'd love him to do a track with Budden as I feel he is the one member of Shady 2.0 who could bring out the best in him. But apart from that, there's only so far being a great lyricist will take you, and as we can see, Em isn't evolving anymore.

You say that like Recovery was full of them or something lmao. Collaborates with Pink, Rihanna, and Bruno Mars and now he's suddenly "collaborating with pop stars?" Okkkkay
