Eminem's next album will probably be do or die

Postby Hopsinshadie » Sep 16th, '12, 13:18

I think that if his next album is not a classic, he is done. Either way he is turning 40. So Eminem should just go all out and give it his all. Most rap fans don't believe in him anymore.

It will be true for some fans, but a lot of his fans still love his music. I think in the eyes of Hip Hop, yeah, this might be his last chance...who can really tell though? He's showing improvement from his 2011 verses imo so I have confidence that he'll at least deliver an amazing album if not a classic.

Yea the new song Eminem did with Pink was awful. But you guys are so quick to jump on him being so bad. How about all his songs he did with Slaughterhouse? Our House was a great song and his verse was sick in it. Jay-Z totally lost it though. I'll listen to Eminem till I die, that's a true fan.

What was awful about his HCTW verse? Great voice and flow. Better than the 2012 pre-Slaughterhouse material that was coming out of him.

Regardless of whether or not "most" fans of hip-hop believe in him, Em doesn't care what the fans think as long as the rappers he respects respect him. And since Redman was just singing his praises, I think he's fine. Must be doing something right.

lol do or die? you guys are funny. he's achieved legendary status, he's rich as fuck, he's the most liked person on earth. Top selling rapper of all time.

He doesn't have to make music anymore or ever again. Some people here are so stupid when it comes to Eminem. Just be happy that he's even still involved, or alive for that matter.

They're both respected?

Nah, the hip-hop heads just want him to stop putting out wack verses/songs.

I'm going to have to agree with the OP. I think Em's really at a crossroads now. He's done some good shit recently and he's done some retarded shit. Which one you think is which is up to you, to a point, but I think we can more or less agree that that's the case. So with this album, he either gives us a well-thought-out, sincere, passionate, believable record (whether it's a "classic" or not), and he's BACK... or, he can just keep rapping about nothing, and keep shouting annoyingly and making penis references and unfunny punchlines for 12 songs, and people give up on him. I think it's really up in the air which will happen, but I do consider this upcoming album as a sort of "career make or break" for him. If it IS bad, that doesn't mean he won't go down in history as a legend, taking into account his whole body of work and his whole career. He will, at least by decently informed people with a working sense of history. But this (imo) will be the album that will convince the people "on the fence" about him to either embrace him again, or just give up on him completely. And frankly, I think that's legitimate. If he is out of worthwhile things to say, better that he fail openly, and realize he's failed, and stop (and maybe think some more... he COULD come back better than ever LATER), than to continue with people patting him on the back, while he ruins his legacy. But personally, I agree with the OP. But it's not that I EXPECT it to be bad. It's just very up in the air for me. I think it's just as possible that it's awesome, and it takes everyone by surprise. Who knows.

Yet another moronic thread by someone who thinks Eminem lays awake at night thinking about "movin unitz" and "makin a classic albummm."

99% of the time, Eminem is thinking about rapping. Even if he's doing something else at the same time, he's thinking, "what rhymes with 'bags of methadone?'"

He doesn't sit around thinking about his legacy on the internet.

If Eminem's legacy were in jeopardy, he would've been toast after Encore.
