Is gangster rap an option for Eminem?

Postby Hopsinshadie » Sep 29th, '12, 07:06

Remember how we established that it's hard for Eminem to come up with a theme that would be thrilling? People on here are saying that Eminem was never really a G. How would Eminem sound if he switched to actual gangster rap? Would you respect it?

Yeah, that would be about as genuine as a Corrections Officer acting like a cocaine dealer.

Seriously though, would you respect it? Something completely made up and untrue? Him pretending to be a thug when he's so far removed from poverty and struggle that he pretty much has no reason to even carry a pistol anymore?

We're not talking about putting on a persona that is beyond believable (Relapse) or song concepts talking about ultra-violent acts (Take your pick); a gangster rapper is a gangster that raps. Eminem wasn't a gangster before, and he sure as hell isn't now.

Ridiculous.

He's talking about the weapons charges he was facing at the time, and how it affected the public's perception of him. He was facing prison time, and the media was focusing on the criminal nature of his personal life more than ever.

Soldier is definitley 1 of his best songs a top 10 Eminem song but that was based on a real incident he did as far as pistol whipping a club bouncer and getting probation. That's pretty much the only ever solo Gangsta or Street Rap song he ever made simply cos of the case he caught but as people have said Eminem will be the first to admit he has never been a Gangster or sold drugs he is not known for that. What made him blow up is how the average person can relate to his music that's why he got to where he is cos he has lyrics the average person relates to. It would be fake for him to make Gangsta Rap he can get away with the serial killing crazy raps he sometimes does cos everyone know's that's just a persona and he tryna be funny.

Aside from Soldier being a classic song Musically what made the song even better though was the fact that it was based on a true story where he did get charges for pistol whipping and almost faced jail time but got probation. But he is not a Gangster as far as he used to be in a gang or was a criminal. Eminem is just a regular dude that went through alot in his life and came from poverty the fan's like him for the music he does that the average person can relate
