Eminem: 'I knew that there might be certain expectations'

Postby Him Shadow » Oct 29th, '13, 11:06

'Calling it The Marshall Mathers LP 2, obviously I knew that there might be certain expectations [...] I wouldn't want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that.'

and than The Monster came out.

I like the song for what it is, but some of you are pathetic for defendin' this song so much, it's MMLP2 and we have a good pop, Rihanna style song on it. what the fuck. some of you say it's for the radio bla bla, so Eminem is so lazy that he can't make a good creative song for the radio no more? this song sound like a Rihanna song, it's doesn't sound like Eminem style at all and the pop sound of the song is killin' Eminem's good lyrics IMO. I know everyone don't want to be dissapointed and try to like the song and all, but just admit it, there's no place for garbage like this on MMLP2 or any Eminem album.
I still hope it's goin' to be amazing album, I mean he just released Rap God, so we know he's able to make classic songs

Hopefully all his singles except for RG were the filler tracks. I doubt it though. I mean Berzerk is pretty exemplary of all the songs we've heard. No consistency so far, just like how Berzerk was all over the place. Every song from here on out has to be at least an 8 if there is any hope for this album. I just don't trust Em anymore. I know he has it in him, but he loves to waste tracks and just put out whatever sells.

Only 1 song has been praise worthy so far. Survival was horrendous.

TRSS is a genius song. How can you even dream of comparing that to this piece of shit or LTWYL. Fuck you. People on this forum shit on this track, but its a fucking fantastic song that perfectly sums up the slim shady persona in the eyes of the public (having the mainstream appeal while actually being GOOD). this shitty song is him stop-start fast rapping about fame (which he's now done on like 80% of his songs since 2009) with rihanna doing some flo rida whistle shit on the chorus -_- fucking disgusting.
...the only problem was, my english teacher was a guy...

Eminem DID NOT want to make The Real Slim shady in the first place!! And back then, we can understand the label forcing him to make that track. When he did make the track, it was cheesy but uniquely him. It did not use the same drum beats as Britney Spears. Or have Christina Aguilera on the hook. Even when he DID make that track, he made The Way I Am because he was so revolted by the idea. Now, he makes this type of song with so much more power towards the label and doesnt even flinch!! Disturbing.

Love the Way You Lie made artistic sense. It has been pointed out too many times to repeat that.
