Even though some songs sound like other songs on previous album, I strongly think that MMLP2 is strong because of its "new" sound, not because of how it sounds like other songs. Yes, Survival sounds like Recovery, and Baby sounds like Relapse (without the accents of course), but I'm not sure how "on" the rest of them are.

I'm just trying to have fun with hypotheticals. If you never heard the tracks on here where would they of been in your opinion?

MMLP2 = MMLP2. Let's get out of the comparison box and see this album for what it really is; an independent classic.

Rhyme Or Reason sounds nothing like anything on Encore.

Apples - Oranges
Granny smith Apples - Oranges
Gala Apples - Oranges
Delicious Red Apples - Bananas
Bananas - Apples
Oranges - Bananas
Grapes - Cherries: No Seeds
Papaya- Bananas
Tomato - Apples

Damn. I wish I could just stop labeling and enjoy the food that is on my plate! There's so much food to digest but I'm going to end up dying of hunger while I sit here scrutinizing my food. Ahhhh.

Goodbye cruel world. :(

Only ones I feel confident about. A lot of different directions on this album so its hard to say:

Bad Guy - MMLP
So Much Better - The Eminem Show
Survival - Recovery
Brainless - MMLP
Evil Twin - MMLP
Baby - Relapse
KNOCK MADNESS - OUT NOW

The OP makes a good and interesting observation. When I 1st went through the album I felt like I just went through his whole career. But at the same time, MMLP2 has cohesion and stability. His ability to combine those 2 things is awesome, and would be ridiculously hard to do. Em did it.

And, like some of you said, this album should stand on its' own pedestal. No need to compare it.
