...when discussing the quality of an album. I see this mostly when people say Encore is a good album (which boggles my mind). "I mean yeah Encore has some good bad songs, but it has classics like Toy Soldiers, Yellow Brick Road, Love You More, and We As Americans." Except those last two aren't actually ON the album. To me, the first thing you hear on Encore is the curtains up skit, and the last thing you hear is the song "Encore," and you don't hear any of the bonus tracks in between. I don't really care if you swapped out the shitty songs for the bonuses, that still isn't how the album was made, and doesn't change the actual quality.
I take no issue with someone saying those are the best or their favorite tracks that came out of whatever album. It just bothers me when people use music that isn't actually part of the finished project to reinforce their opinion.
