BME Hell: The Sequel Discussion

Postby Jaba » Mar 7th, '14, 00:10

I re-visited this album. Since em said this album inspired mmlp2 to have fun. And I'd say I love it! It is classic em! He got out of that recovery shit here. ANywhoos whats ur favorite song? It is a hard choice but. I'd have to say mine is The Reunion.

Singin' "Bagpipes from Baghdad" again
In my dad's drag draggin' a faggot in a Glad bag
Won't be the last time I make a dramatic entrance like that again
You thought I was lyin' when I said I think that I'm crossin' the line again
I've lost my mind, caution oh God I think I've just thought of another fucking line
Forgive me father, for I have sinned
But hip hop has left me brainwashed with a violent streak

I'd say he still had a lot of bad habits from Recovery i.e punchlines (not hating peeps , just pointing out is all)
But he truly returned on the track, Reunion. Classic Slim :worship:

I've been listening to a lot of the songs lately actually. Every track except A kiss, loud noises and living proof because I fucking hate the beats on all three.

Okay EP. The Reunion blows every other track away.

I still enjoy it, I like it better than Recovery. It was the beginning of Em's improvement. Especially on tracks like The Reunion and A Kiss.

Yeah dude Em on MMLP2 is so much better than H:TS Em, who was still really good on there. I feel like The Reunion was made when he started working on MMLP2. The positive reaction to the song must have pushed him to want to do better. I think The Reunion would have fit perfect on MMLP2 tbh. But I'm glad he was able to come out of this project and make one that was ten times better.

Yeah I did enjoy Hell: The Sequel. This makes me want to go back and revisit it. I particularly enjoy The Reunion and A Kiss. Living Proof is also really good. I think that Em had some of his old vibe back on parts of the Hell: The Sequel and some of his lines were better than Recovery but others weren't. Then with MMLP 2 he came back 100% with the old vibe and classic lines.

He steadily got better after Recovery until he exploded in our faces with MMLP 2. It's been a fun ride :8)
