Sadistik wrote:Hello everybody,
First of all, I am on tour right now and I'm typing from a cell phone in Omaha, Nebraska so I apologize inadvance for the brevity. I don't normally participate in forums but I saw this and felt inclined to clarify a few things. First of all, I posted thy statement on my Facebook page mainly to spark conversation and to see what people's opinions are on the topic (My real name is Cody Foster, feel free to add me to read the full post). I want to clarify first that I was not attacking Eminem or his work in a personal way, I intended to express my opinion and see what others thought about it.
For what it is worth, in my opinion, I think Eminem in his prime (When MMLP came out) was the most skilled rapper of all time. I stated that in the Facebook thread as well. I have an immense respect for his work and influence on hip-hop and pop culture in general. The MMLP is one of my favorite records of all time and I don't ever expect to make an album that will top it. I don't know how else to word it: I have an enormous respect for Eminem and his work. I also recognize and appreciate, as a white person who raps for a living, how huge of a path he blazed for white artists to become accepted in this culture. With all of that said, I meant my statement, I don't enjoy Eminem's new music, but so what? It is just an opinion and I am entitled to that just like others are to dislike my own music.
I also want to say thank you and express my gratitude to all of you on this forum who have been so supportive of me and my music. This music truly means the world to me and I really do appreciate it. I hope this helps to represent me a little more accurately, thanks for listening.
