The only problem is that I feel like now that he's dead, he is considered to be a true legend to African-American art, hip-hop included. Seeing that Eminem sells to hip-hop fans and works with other hip-hop artists, that might not be the best business decision. But I guess that kind of stuff never used to hold him back in the good ole' days.
However, we all know that Eminem is slowly turning into a mature pussy. Lame.
I think the problem is that Eminem is confused with where he wants his career to go. That's why he was sure to sprinkle Recovery with a couple of jokey/fun songs to even the album out instead of having it be a full serious album.
His fans are divided, one side wants the crazy/just don't give a fuck Eminem and others want the serious and emotional Eminem.
I personally want a NEW Eminem. I want him to completely go out of the box. Work with respectable hip hop artists. (Lupe, Nas, J. Cole etc) and touch on more diverse topics such as politics and poverty issues around the world.
Perfect examples of these types of tracks are White America, Sing For The Moment & Mosh (though it's not his most lyrical track, I admire how Em had the back bone to speak his mind on current politics at that time.)
He's capable of doing it, I just don't think he has enough confidence in himself.
I just wish he would expand his horizons and just set out a new goal with his music.
