From what I was taught, if you were to read a 2nd person, it would place YOU, the viewer, the listener, the reader, into the story.

For example, it would be telling YOU what you're doing, but it's not the same as if saying "I love you Slim, we coulda been together"

It'd be like "You tell Slim you love him, and you coulda been together"

You know?

Parts of Em's All She Wrote verse come to mind. "You're starin' down a barrel of hate, terrible fate", but he's talking to the girl, not the listener.

So I don't know.

He uses 2nd person in Going Through Changes, then. He talks to himself, telling himself what went wrong and shit

We're not Slim, so it's not 2nd person. He's just talking to himself.

Talking to yourself = 3rd person.

You know in Lose Yourself? The 1st verse is probably the closest we've ever got to 2nd person. It's in 3rd person, but still.

If Em said:

"Your palms are sweaty..."

It'd be 2nd.

It's weird lol.

But the entire verse he says "you" and "ya". The entire verse is basically talking to us in an effort to relate lol, so I think it counts.
