No...it was absolutely for sales. Em had no say on Rihanna being on the hook. He probably got it with Skylar Grey on the hook and the Record Label put Rihanna on it.

Yes he did, he says he wanted her on the song from the beginning. Em could have put anyone on that hook, Em still would have sold many albums, regardless, because his name alone sparks interest

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

C'mon ppl,Skylar obviously has a great voice, but Riri did a pretty good job on LTWYL.If Skylar didn't want Riri or anyone singing her hook she could have just kept it for herself.Obviously she did agree with it :facepalm

If Em/Interscope wanted someone relevant on the hook so the song could sell, I'm sure they could have also chosen Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, etc. etc.

It's NOT a coincidence that the song is about domestic abuse and Rihanna just happened to be on it. I still don't get how people don't understand :facepalm

They put Rihanna on the hook because the controversy of the Chris Brown incident would make for more publicity, which means more money.

Some people are so naive when it comes to the music industry :facepalm

Whatever.

Rihanna was on the song because she's a victim of domestic violence and Em wanted her on the song.
