You can come up with all the alternative interpreations you want man, but the fact of the matter is he obviously knew the song would be interpreted by fucktarded young girls who focus purely on the chorus and apply the lyrics to themselves to grab attention. As though their futile lives are some kind of romcom and their relationship is unique and special and so violent, like the time when he accidentally dropped the milk one morning. Fucking scary shit.

Em will always improve whatever he jumps on, but Love The Way You Lie may be my least favourite thing he's ever put his name on, including Encore and all that shit.

Whatever, I know how much you hate this song.

I do, this song never fails to get me angry

Kez wrote:Yeah but that doesn't change the fact that he put her on it at least partially because he knew she would make it sell. Music shouldn't be about sales, especially not when you in Em's position and one of the world's richest. That's just what I feel. That and the fact that Rihanna is Godawful. She's no more talented than Wayne,

Well it does change it to me.

I think he cares about resonance and influence. I don't think he gives a shit about money or sales, he has to care about sales because he cares about influence but, I think he wants his music to be relevant and big, and mean something now.

But I honestly do not believe he just wants a hit for the sake of a hit like a pop star does. And, it still changes it for me, as the collab makes the song mean something artistically. So I couldn't care less about other possible motives, as the end result is to my liking.

Kez wrote:Except he didn't do that because it would make him money. It was a matter of principles and morals. It meant something. Everything Rihanna does, to my eyes, is manufactured garbage and is purely financial.

Again, I seriously do not think he gives a flying shit about money. I think he cares about his fans, about seeming relevant and not seeming like a has-been or a nobody anymore and I think he cares about his influence and legacy.

And, I think he did it just as much to cause a stir. Because don't forget, the song is not an easy hit. Yes it has Rihanna on it but the song's content is not commercial content. Realistic tales of domestic violence, in detail, is not sell-out material. That's integral material.

So he's forcing the mainstream to swallow hardcore content and tricking the radios into playing it with Rihanna's name. And her name makes the content itself more resonant, noteworthy and questionable to people, due to her personal past. It makes it ballsy.

So no, I don't agree on LTWYL at all and nothing about the song points to him watering himself down or just wanting money or a hit to me. He's lyrical, angry, realistic and graphic and uses the most public figure of domestic abuse in recent times to sing the hook. That's artistic, not pop.

Kez wrote:To be honest it defeats the point of him reverting back to dissin celebrities if he's just gonna turn around and be like "yeah lol I didnt mean it shes dope", "what specificially is dope about her Em", "erm.."

And yes I agree that Wayne is abysmal.

Yeah but he wasn't dissing her. That's his point.

He was never truly 'dissing' them on a personal front apart from Christina who he had a real-life personal thing with.

Back in the day he insulted them extremely to separate himself from them and stop people lumping him in with them. And now, because it's part of 'the Eminem lyrical package', he just arbitrarily uses relevant names as meaningless targets for the sake of wordplay.

The Lady GaGa thing wasn't even insulting, it was a just a ridiculous pun for the sake of writing that pun, referencing a bizarre Internet rumour. What's getting tiring and irritating is the retarded newspapers who STILL do not get Eminem (and, it's hardly brain surgery at this point), still think he's homophobic, still think he's genuinely angry or genuinely insulting pop stars personally.

They're fucking retarded. I hate the mainstream media with a passion. I would seriously, honestly and genuinely love to kick the living shit out of Bill O'Reilly. And not for what he's said on Em, or, not just that, but just in general. The guy is a complete fucking idiot.

I loved it when Tyler The Creator said, "fuck Bill O'Reilly" on Goblin.

Is that all he said?

Even they aren't extreme enough for me man lmao. Why doesn't anybody think bigger, instead of saying 'fuck Bill O'Reilly'... why not...

Write a descriptive storytelling song about driving to FOX studios, kidnapping and torturing him. If I had the facilities and abilities I would definitely do that. And ideas like that, totally commit to and indulge in huge and ridiculous ideas. Be an artist. Everybody thinks too small.

I'd also call the song "Kill Bill".

You know, I didn't give Refill much of a chance at the time (just never got around to buying it after Relapse since I wasn't enthralled with it at first) but whenever I listen to it now, I realize how much I like it. It's great. Miles ahead of Recovery and actually feels like Eminem. I get sadder all the time that he didn't release Relapse 2 instead of Recovery.

I hope his future work will be more along the lines of Elevator or My Darling than Space Bound or Not Afraid. Since he is apparently so pressured by people's responses now that he would completely change his entire image and direction based on some bad reviews, I hope he notices the criticisms of Recovery out there and goes a different direction.

What am I saying, these are just my desperate pipe dreams. :facepalm
