Eminem is one of the most popular artists in the world and the industry wants to see kendrick winning because it would mean a lot for hip hop, it would mean that this genre doesn't have to be compromised anymore.
Iovine is a smart man, he is behind the 2 artists and he knows he can have 2 golden boys in his label, instead of one.
