If he used that lost verse, it would have been a different song, with a different atmosphere, more comical, less serious.

Yeah, you're right. Recovery is a totally different style and that was completely intentional.

I love Almost Famous but I think it could have been on the level of Stan if he didn't use some of the crappy jokes/punch lines (comeback like nut on your spine / go to hell and build a snowman girl / hang it up like some crank calls) he used, which just felt like filler to me. Especially when he never wrote like that in the period of time he's rappong about in the song (he had amazibg lines like "my face is pale, but you look like you've seen a ghost). Having said that, "here I come screaming A TAC like I just steppe on one" is pretty great too. It's actually my favorite of all his play on words.

That never actually existed.

You mean he thought about the idea but never wrote it? I know, probably, doesn't change what I've written.

But what would be the point?? In the first one Stan dies........So what would be the second one about? ...I think there is nothing left to say.

Well in the song it mentioned that Stan had a brother called Matthew, so I guess the song could center around him trying to get revenge on Em or something.

No, I mean he never even considered it. The whole "lost verse" thing was a joke made even funnier because (like most of Eminem's classic humor) people just didn't understand.

Nope .. but I think that a song called "Matthew" would definitely be a possibility .. something like Matthew seeking revenge or shit like that

Never mess with a classic. But I would love it if he did something similar though. It would be interesting to see if his storytelling ability is on par at this stage in his career.

I don't see why it would be a bad idea. It'll sell like mad regardless if it's good or not. And if it sucks, it isn't like it takes anything away from Stan. I think this could be a cool concept.

Backstory: Matthew, Stan's psychotic little brother, quickly turns on his idol Eminem after his brother's suicide.

Song begins with a skit: 12 years later (real time), Eminem is performing at a show, and a security guard pulls him off stage. There is an important phone call for him.

Song begins: He picks up the phone to find out Matthew kidnapped Hailie, and the Em tries to convince Matthew to spare her life. The first verse Em succeeds in getting him to drop the weapon and calm down.

The second verse Eminem realizes who Matthew is, and gets Matthew to forgive him for Stan's death. Matthew quickly becomes a shell of his brother, already back to mega-fan status. He begins to negotiate with Eminem, agreeing to free Hailie for a couple of things in exchange - he starts with an autograph and tickets, but then asks Eminem for a pair of his sweaty socks, and the opportunity to have dinner with Eminem, alone.

The third verse picks up at the restaurant, where everything appears to be going smoothly. Matthew appears to reach in his pocket to pull out a gun, and a shot is fired. Matthew collapses onto the table, and an undercover security guard stands up. They quickly reach to grab the weapon from Matthew's pocket, which turns out to be a black leather wallet, with an apology letter addressed "For Marshall" inside.
