I love Survival. Played it 14 times in a row after first listen until my ears hurt.
I love the hook. Its short, not corny or cringeworthy. Its from a decent singer and it would translate great live.
I LOVE the beat. TES is my fav Em album and the nostalgic feelings the guitars give is awesome. Add to that the absolute STADIUM feel of the rest of the beat and it doesn't compete with rap beats no more. Its on some Bon Jovi, 70's rockstar vibe shit and i LOVE it. I just wish i can hear his band play this live *sigh*
the flow is so so. I like it, but the "stylistic evolution" mantra does make me a lil unimpressed.
The only complaint i got is the lyrics themselves. Technically (punches, wordplay, multies etc) they are good to great. Content is a lil tired, rappers rapping about rap-esquire.
Now, the reason i complain about the lyrics is Eminem is my favorite artist ever. So, as a stan, i want him to compete with Black album Jay, Love Below Andre, Section 80 Kendrick and stuck in the 90's legends. I don't really have a preference on content. I just care about execution (lyrics wise that is)
