I'm going to bump this, because unless MMLP2 is amazing, this thread will have proven its point.

lol People exaggerate sooooo much about his screaming on recovery. Despite that id take the few corny punchlines and yelling over those accents anyday. Relapse has a lot of corny lines in it, Can someone explain to me, how relapse edges out over recovery, that isnt simply a stylistic thing? I was one of those fans that relapse really dissapointed and Recovery made really happy, and I still feel that way, even though i appreciate relapse more than i did when i first heard it, id still take recovery over it any day.

MMLP2> relapse and Recovery though calling it now.

I think recovery has genuinely better songs, but maybe the actual rapping you prefer on relapse? i think recovery can speak to more people and is more effective at the message its trying to convey. Relapse to me was very flat and really did just sound like he was rapping again getting back on his feet.

I always felt Recovery was better than Relapse but hey, it's all opinions. A lot of forum internet users seem to like Relapse more, but random people who you may know or talk to seemed to like Recovery more.

I just thought the accent was horrible on the majority of the songs it was used on. It got annoying, much more annoying than any shouting or angry Eminem voice.

But I said it before and I'll say it again. I don't think Em has a terrible album. At the worst, Encore was a decent album, Relapse and Recovery were solid albums IMO.

Relapse stans on here will crucify anything pro Recovery and against Relapse though. I felt the shouting was over exaggerated on Recovery, and the album was cohesive in sound. The only misstep was the production on some of the tracks, though it didn't take away that Em was on point the whole album for the most part.

How people can call an album with Cold Wind Blows, On Fire, Going Through Changes, Seduction, No Love verse, Space Bound, So Bad, Almost Famous, Untitled, Session One, and Ridaz trash is beyond me.

Initial excitement--hate--cult following

I find it hard to picture that based on all of the negativity around here recently people will go Recovery

excitement--classic--hate

Obviously a number of people will have opinions independent of the trend but I think the general consensus will be Relapse style

Wait until a year from now to hear what people will say about Rap God.

Yeah the flow and delivery is amazing, and wordplay is down right incredible at points, but there's some lines that will be crucified in time. Batter women-make them a cake, cornrows line, etc. And the beat isn't very good still. The opening part with the bass line and piano is DOPE, should have kept that and only used the synth-siren shit during the chorus And even though I still felt the Ray J/Fab thing and the Lookin Boy stuff was funny, it's really pointless to diss that shit, as if anyone really remembers or cares about that stuff. Also, the fast fast fast, pause, fast, pause, and choppy flow with awkward pauses here and there will become the new shouting/weird accent thing that people hate about Eminem.

Survival first few listens: 2.5/5
After letting it sink in: 3/5

Berzerk first few listens: 3/5
After letting it sink in: 3/5

Rap God first few listens: 4/5
After letting it sink in for a few days now: 3.5/5

Now come on. Encore is shit. Recovery isn't shit, it's not great but it's not shit.

Recovery is average. A 6/10 album probably. Way better than Encore anyway.

MMLP2 will probably be awesome. I think it will be original album, but with the passion and detail of MMLP.

I forgot I replied to this thread. I was reading responses and got to this and thought "Hey, this guy knows what he is talking about"
