The only problem with his beats are they do not sound cohesive, like they obviously weren't all made for the same project. That is honestly one thing I LOVE about Relapse.

I agree that... when I listen to Recovery again... my hate for the production feels a little exaggerated, but it's because there's no distinct, memorable or overall sound...

All the beats generally have the same thump and vibe but... it just all sounds messy and confused.

I will break the trend and say i love the Not Afraid beat. Musically it is great and does not sound messy or unnecessarily loud. If you say it is generic, maybe i can give you that but it is properly executed. I especially noticed this when slaughterhouse did a freestyle session with popular beats and Joel Ortiz spent 2 minutes spazzing over it. Its beautiful.
