ign, thecoli, boxden, (thecoli & Bx = SOHH), the last 2 are basically 2 of the largest hip hop forums on the internet, they're like the adult versions of KTT.

Dude, WTF, it's like here, though they are bigger, so you gonna see more hate logically (and more love) some people will utterly hate it, will make threads about that, but in all these forums there are a lot of people who say things: "he's back"," he's good but the beat is bad", "Eminem just embarrassed his haters." and would defend the song.

But I guess you only see what you want to see.

If i had time on my hand (and if this was worth it) I would make my theory about the majority being positive, using reasonable statistics, by counting and analyzing all the forums posts, lol

But it's so obvious that the general response is positive, so weird...

I hate lil wayne but he had one of the best 5-year runs in rap and his hype was real, it came from the street, hood niggas were playing his shit way before he blew up and got big. He was very respected in his early days because he was everything but an artist pushed by the machine.

He was huge, and had loads of hype no doubt. But at no time was ever the goat. He had a run where he was one of the biggest rappers...but he didn't have the skill equivalent. Hip Hop fans love getting caught up in hype. It applies to Em too, but still.

I don't like lil wayne at all but he was able to stand out on almost every song during his 2004-2008 run.

I'm not trying to disagree with you everybody wanted to hear the Wayne feature. It used to be a big thing to have him on your song. But even at his biggest he was never.. prime Jay, prime Nas, or prime Em for example (skill wise).

never said he was as good as Nas, jay or Em in their prime but he had one of the best 5-year runs in hip hop, he found the way to make everybody forget about Nas, Jay and other rappers when he was on their songs :y:

Prime Wayne was pretty good...cannot discredit him despite how shitty his recent verses have been. Honestly, he was the GOAT around 2006-2009.

Eminem could bring back Pac, Biggie, and Pun, and get criticized for it because he forgot Big L.

Because he'd be stupid to not bring out the best to ever do it.

Watch the Throne and American Gangster are the only two good albums he's had since The Black Album. Also there's a little thing called Renegade that should have settled this "debate" once and for all. Hov lost.

Thank you. Finally someone else with the balls to say it. Jay has gotten SO lazy. He really does not deserve to be considered a GOAT. Sorry Hov lovers. I like Jay but it's very clear how lazy and uncaring he seems now.

It doesn't matter how lazy Jay-Z has gotten when he has one of the best discographies in hip-hop to support him.

Reasonable Doubt, Vol. 1, Vol. 2, The Dynasty, The Blueprint, The Black Album, American Gangster, Watch the Throne, and now Magna Carta Holy Grail. Wow, astonishing how many great albums he has.

This Horse guy telling me that fucking ENCORE is better than HALF OF JAY'S discography is fucking laughable and tells me that he doesn't know shit when it comes to Jay-Z. He's probably only bumped Eminem this past month and hasn't heard one song on MCHG. He's probably heard Holy Grail...so make that two songs.

"Renegade" lmfao. The one song that is so overrated its actual meaning and the power behind it has been lost...for good.

Jay held his own against prime Em...that's pretty impressive in my book. It's not like he absolutely demolished Jay and made him cry. He had two excellent verses, as did Jay.

Name me one album that I listed that is worse than Recovery or Encore.

thing is, jay-z influenced the whole game with his first albums, you can't find a rapper from ny who isn't influenced by Jay-Z. Even the new rappers are influenced by artists who were influenced by Biggie or Jay.
And you have to keep in mind that for a lot of people, Eminem hasn't released a great album since 2002 while Jay-Z released American Gangster a few years ago.

I might be wrong but Relapse is mostly celebrated by Eminem fans while American Gangster is celebrated by every fanbase

American Gangster is kinda overlooked and underrated too though, but yeah I feel you. HTS had good reviews though.

Hopefully MMLP2 puts an end to that
