Someone Explain the Love for Wicked Ways to Me

Well, as a fan of the X Ambassadors, I may be a little subjective, but:

First, the chorus is very good, it's like a modern update on the rock-type chorus thing TES kinda wanted to pull off. Second, the track is very X Ambassadors (also very Imagine Dragons, who produced for the XA and I'm even a bigger of a fan of ID), with dem big ass drums, and I think Em did a good job over it. Overall it's a like for me, the Ken skit just randomly thrown at the end of it was out of place, but funny.

I like Wicked Ways a lot. Em's verses and the chorus are great (out of all non Eminem hooks my favorites are Bad Guy, Headlights, Legacy and then Wicked Ways). I really can't understand the love for Beautiful Pain though.

Hate this track. Had a lot of potential, but Eminem ruined it by rambling about arguing over shopping carts and peeing his bed while maggots eat his brain, and not putting your heart in a headcase. Beautiful Pain sounds like Mockingbird 2, and the subject is all over the place and boring.

Yeah the verses are good but the beat is meh and so is the hook.

Well, Trshady and a number of hip-hop fans in general hate these sort of "pop" hooks and obviously uu dislike the Monster and Beautiful Pain for the same reason. I would assume by extension u don't particularly care for Drake either? Or Graduation? Or J Cole's singing?

Well, people like me love those type of things when done right. They don't sound corny to me, just incredibly broad and big and with that stadium feel. Survival, some of the Recovery hooks, Take from me, above the law.... I like all that

Actually, that's not the main reason why I dislike this song or beautiful pain. It's the rapping on them. The rapping is so sub-par compared to the rest of what we heard on MMLP2. (Side note: The Monster has grown on me a lot since it dropped, so that's not really fair to say).

You can't just assume that I dislike the song only because of the hook. I agree with you that when it's done right it sounds great. 25 to Life had a great sung hook, Survival had a good hook, Our House with Skylars hook, I even like Skylars hook on Asshole, and Above the Law's hook was amazing.

The main problem to me is the rapping. I wouldn't say a song sucks ONLY because I dislike the hook, a lot more goes into what makes a song good or bad to me.

''Beautiful Pain'' is my favorite track, aside from ''Rap God.'' BP should have been on the album. The song brings a tear to my eye, reminds me of my ex and all the times we had.

It's a 7/10 for me. He's got some decent bars, but his flow fucks it up for me. The chorus is dope though, IMO. And the beat isn't too bad.

His flow drops it for me though. It's the bottom tier of the album.
