It's worthy of being placed next to his top 3 tbh.

OP is wrong. Very, very wrong.

Eminem forgot how to make bomb ass music. Would a guy like Jesse Pinkman listen to MMLP 2? Naw. Maybe Rap God and that's it.

^ well said. That's something Eminem seriously needs to consider. If you can't make music that Jesse can relate to, what then is the point of making music?
Jesse represents the inner innocence in us all, purity glowing deep as oceans explodin', tapping into this veritably unlimited power source should grant Harry Potter the Power of Love, with which he shall defeat the Dark Lord Voldemort, who is a disciple of the One Who Thrives In The Shade, (Slim Shady).

Not as good as Recovery? Gotta be kidding me.

MMLP2 obliterates Recovery musically, lyrically, rap-wise, flows-wise... everything.

Almost all of his puns on Recovery range from bad-childlike stupid... and almost all of his puns on MMLP range from decent-genius. He's a REALLY good lyricist on MMLP2 in every aspect, and his flows are out of this world, and his humour and ideas are also a lot funnier and more impactful. Recovery was so painfully forced.

"Rap God" and "Baby" showcase some of his best rapping... ever.

Recovery has a lot of really good songs too, but also a LOT of holes and weak elements to it that MMLP2 doesn't; both are pretty confused projects with no real underlying musical or conceptual vision, but on MMLP2 he sounds genuinely confident, genuinely witty and he is genuinely creative. On Recovery he mostly sounds like he's trying his absolute hardest to be all those things but mostly just yelling at thin air.

Anyway, my personal rankings atm for his albums would prolly be...

1. MMLP
2. TES
3. SSLP
4. MMLP2
5. Relapse
6. Recovery
7. Infinite
8. Encore

Me ranking it higher than Relapse is... well, I'm kind of unsure of that actually, they feel hard to compare. MMLP2 is very enjoyable, but Relapse is miles more consistent of a vision and execution.

Regardless, I'd say MMLP2 is better than at least 3 of his albums.

Definitely Infinite, definitely Encore, definitely Recovery... and maybe Relapse.

His top 3 will always be hard to touch, especially if he continues to insist on making albums with no clear direction other than lots of rapping, lots of different sounds and ideas and basically just a paintball zone for him as an artist to try shit out on. You don't make classics that way, just enjoyable albums.

But to have created an album which is, in many Em fans' books 4th, at this point, isn't bad at all.

@EminemBase
Eh, consistent artistic vision is overrated, the reason most of us find MM2 so enjoyable (it is my favorite Eminem album), is because of its lack of direction. It's a mix of everything Stans love, from wry humour to OTT misogyny to deep, beautiful poetry. And rhymes. A fuckton of clever rhymes. The production is pretty exciting too because although Dre's stuff is brilliant, it can get a bit dry.
TLDR; MMLP2 isn't a classic in the strict sense of the word, it is close as fuck though and I'll listen to it before TES or MMLP.

Deja Vu, Going Through Changes, Rhyme or Reason, Rap God, Brainless, So Far and Groundhog Day are on par with Bad Guy imo imo
