And Em has done nothing but improve as an artist. His delivery, his writing, his mind, it's always getting sharper. Those old Slim Shady days were perfect during that timeframe. Now he is where he needs to be,

Love The Way You Lie alone is better than SSLP & MMLP as an entirety. FACT.

LTWYL is a mature, grown man talking about real life, relevant issues.
Recovery is fucken garbage. Its filled with crappy lines and sloppy flow.
First off, the music is horrible. It is as equally generic as everything else on the radio, which is why this album fits so perfectly into a line-up consisting of today's most commercially successful artists (Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Rhianna, Drake etc.). This album is home to some of the weakest drums I have ever heard ("No Love", "Not Afraid") as well as some of the most bland guitar riffs ("Talkin' 2 Myself", "Space Bound"). In addition to this, the music does not even attain a rap sound. The only element remotely reflective of the art of hip-hop producing is the sampling. Even then, chopping up Haddaway's "What Is Love" is one of the poorest excuses for a sample I have heard yet, worse than Puff Daddy sampling The Police. There is nothing great, innovative, or enjoyable about the music on "Recovery" whatsoever. If the music on "Recovery" is not bad, then all music is good.
"Recovery" is everything Eminem strived not to be ten years ago, everything he so passionately criticized - generic, bubblegum pop, and worst of all (if you had asked him in 2000) corny.

Recovery is not a pop album, not "bubblegum rap" (), it's a HIP HOP album...he's still just as vile and offensive as ever. Oh no, the beats are too "poppy". Well, his lyrics aren't. I'd agree if Recovery was actually bad, but it's not.
Manly Moose wrote:The reason its hard to transition from listening to Ems other albums and Recovery is the beats. They are the polar opposite of the beats from Ems other albums. Listening to them side by side is like listening to classical and metal side by side.
