Hopefully you don't compare it with other tracks from other albums (including Recovery). I like My 1st Single, but I know it isn't on par with about any Eminem songs ever released. I didn't ignore the rest of the album, and I didn't say it's comparable with/better than anything .. That's cause I acknowledge better tracks. Hell, in my opinion of listenability My 1st Single > Cinderella Man but I know Cinderella Man is better than My 1st Single in every aspect.

That's only a part of the song. Songs can't be taken 100% word-for-word literally. Because I'm sure everyone can relate to 8 Mile Road even though not everyone wants to be a rapper. It's the theme/message of the song that people identify with.

That choked her to death part was an obvious metaphor for how much Eminem loves her. He essentially saying "If I can't have you, no one can". If it was literal then I'm sure that would make Eminem a killer and he would be in prison for life.

I actually like every Em album too. Some, more then others obviously. I may not like every em track, but I would never say any of them are absolutely "horrible," and I damn sure wouldnt call someone a stupid fuck for liking it.
