1.) He's white.

2.) The controversy

3.) Because people know that he's miles of ahead of their favorite rappers, but don't want to admit it for the reasons stated above.

No one wants to admit that a white guy that makes music as controversial and shocking as Eminem is better than the typical rapper.

It's hipster to bash on Eminem now, so everyone does it to fit in. Fucking faggots. People saying that SSLP, MMLP, and TES are no longer as good as they used to be need to stop existing. Go jump off the roof of a 2 story Mcdonalds with a 12 inch dildo up your ass and a Double Quarter Pounder with extra fucking cheese on it shoved down your throat you worthless pieces of shit.

Completely true. Same thing happened with Wayne. When he got worldly popular, hipsters started hatin on him, for the sake of contrarian opinions. Incredibly idiotic, but hey, what can you do? Then the general hate spread out so much, hipsters felt the need to be different again, so they started lovin Wayne.

As Eminembase said, those are mostly 18/19 year old rap fans who just want to be 'different', cuz apparently, 'different' means musically intelligent. Which is, of course, waaaaaay far from any sign of intelligence whatsoever.

Eminem hasn't dropped a good album in 10 years and I don't expect him to start now.

Meanwhile, Nas & Jay have dropped multiple great albums in that time. Eminem is no longer under the same expectation to drop a good album like Nas is. It's been too long.

I'm with Embase, Relapse over anything that Nas or Jay have put in the last 5 years.

Overrated because you can't listen to it anymore ? Lol.
Relapse is good for the stans, it's not adored by the general rap fans.

I love Eminem but the only time I see his last 3 or 4 albums hyped up is on trshady. I've never heard anybody refer to Relapse and Recovery as great albums.

Who cares about 'general rap fans' lmao.

The more something is watered down to please more, the shitter it often is.

Something being an acquired taste is usually a good thing.

Most 'general rap fans' just want rap about the same boring set of topics, and who cares what anybody thinks - that's such a lame way to justify if something is good or not lmao, justify why you think something is good or bad on your own perspective.

There's never safety in number. For proof, see: Britney Spears.

Overrated? Fux you talking about fam.

Most people here consider Relapse a really good, could have been classic album and Recovery a good album... that's hardly overrating... overrating would be to say they're both groundbreaking classics lmao; most people here acknowledge the flaws in both yet like things about them too.

Eminem has one truly bad album and that's Encore.

Just because you don't like the albums doesn't mean they're overrated if people don't agree with you.

You want to know why they do and Em doesn't, it's because of horrible threads like this that consistently downplay the amount of praise Em gets while always fishing for pity points looking at the negative reaction Eminem gets and than blow it out of proportion. First off who the fuck gives a shit what Boxden thinks about them lol, Eminem is considered by many other rappers (Kanye, Nas, Jay z) as being one of the if not the greatest rappers of all time, and I usually hate using the opinions of other rappers since many times it's insincere but they obviously believe it. And duh Eminem gets downplayed by pimply faced faggots because he's white and they think disassociating themselves with him makes it seem like they don't like his music because they're both white, just as much as there are clueless rock/pop fans who hop on the Eminem is the only rapper who doesn't talk about bitches, guns, and all that materialistic shit.

Really this has been discussed a bajillion times and it's fucking annoying but yes there are people who legitimately don't believe he's the GOAT because of his catalogue, and to brush their opinions under the rug and assume it's because he's white makes me want to press their face against an iron. Encore is certified trash and is as the lowest an artist has fell off from being great, Relapse I don't care for and is horrocore for dummies and feels like a bootleg Tech n9ne with even worse rhyming, Recovery is alright it has some decent songs but feels so sappy and overproduced I feel like I'm on estrogen listening to it, top it off with his corny expletive punchlines that flood the album with a forced pseudo voice and welp. (All my opinion of course, if this even needs a damn disclaimer).

Nas has some legitamately bad albums and also hit a lowpoint in his career by playing follow the leader with his attempts to go pop with Nastradamus and failed so epically it's embarassing, and yes I know he "sold out" appealed to the mainstream with IWW except he actually had great lyrics and arguably imrpoved as an mc from illmatic even if the latter is the more complete album.

Not even a huge fan of Jay and find him overrated as well so I wouldn't even get into that.

If this isn't this serious cause it's in Chit-Chat or whatever than you got me, yes I mad.

Stop it. Tech N9ne wishes he can craft an album as cohesive and complete as Relapse. Tech N9ne is a great rapper, but his albums have got to be some of the messiest pieces of work in hip-hop. Anghellic and Absolute Power is as close to cohesive and complete as Tech N9ne has ever gotten.

Agreed.

dead prez, you just can't say Relapse is 'horrorcore for dummies' that's just plain not right.

Lol QQ the fuck on only a worthless eminem nuthugger would think this is some great innovative thread treading newground rather than beating the dead horse that it is all while simultaneously stroking Em's damaged ego. I hardly even dissed Eminem other than his three most recent albums which isn't even that rare of an opinion to hold of him. I acknoweldge his first three albums as seminal classics with some of Hip Hop's best songs, but I still stand by what I think of Relapse and the Tech N9ne comparison is irrelevent, I don't care for Tech N9ne at all I was merely using him to illustrate a point that Eminem sacrificed substance over style with his multies to create some songs which are almost nothing but stroking his ability to link as much multies as possible. There other horrcore acts I place above relapse, hell Eminem himself WAS great at horrcore but the whole vibe completely lost me with his accent which makes me lol, and hey that might be what he's goin for if so good job. I'm not really interested in debating this as it's been done a million times, I just dropped my own thoughts on this thread even if it came off portraying me as a cynical fuck. Sorry I don't go around give people the reach arounds.

The fact that you think that Relapse was simply a horrorcore Tech N9ne album makes your entire argument irrelevant, you ignorant buffoon.
