Should we ask Pitchfork what they think about that ?

You don't really want to go in that territory do you ? Image

no but seriously, I think that Eminem is a better rapper on tes than kanye is on mbdtf but mbdtf is overall a better album than tes.

With that said, SSLP & TMMLP > MBDTF imo

Yes, Kanye has arguably the best discography in the rap game, although his last album isn't in line of the rest. Em has 1 extremely wack album and 2 'meh' ones. But yeah, Eminem in his peak era can't be topped by anyone.

Kanye has higher highs and lower lows. So it's really subjective.

Somebody here said that Kanye influenced more rappers than Eminem. I strongly disagree. Em lyrical skills made more rappers try harder and be more lyrical. The only thing where Kanye has influence is producing. I`m sorry, but Kanye will never be more than mediocre rapper with overprudced songs.

And MBDTF better than TES? Come on.

That's because you don't truly realize Eminem's genius. :8) You should listen to Em's first three again, back to back and then listen to Recovery. Maybe it'll click idk

Truthfully, they are. Or at least they're very good. Massacre is okay, the rest is garbo

you know that's not really a good thing if the whole album is average with 2-3-4 great songs

classic album = one without skippable songs

not really, it's more like a personal classic for you because a song can only be good in your opinion.

I'd say that classic album = impact, influence, "quality" (album "considered" as a great album by a certain amount of people).

For example, Reasonable Doubt wasn't even considered as a 5/5 album in the 90's, critics & fans thought that it was just another good/great album but that same album started to influence other artists and it's now full of timeless songs.

50 dominated the early 2000's and influenced countless artists ( I believe even kendrick said he admires him ), the quality of all his albums is amazing and impact .. speaks for itself.

and I never said that Grodt wasn't a classic (& you can have the argument that potd is an underground classic) :sweating:
