Lol it's comical how crazy the praise for Relapse is on here. And whether you were 'joking' or not, I can now officially say someone took it far enough to say everyone who thinks Relapse isn't better than 'insert album here' should be banned.

Shut up. Shut up about Relapse. I don't care if the album is the strongest seed in a wad of Jesus Christ's sperm, I'm tired of reading about it. And it wouldn't even be that bad--popular opinions get repeated-- but it has got to a point where praising Relapse is the hip thing to do, in EVERY thread. Heck, some of you people say the EXACT same things about Relapse every time you post about it, in threads that aren't even abut Relapse.

/relapse rant over and im sleep doe

Yeah, I don't know why it was taken so seriously lol...

I obviously knew you weren't serious about banning people.

But you were serious about Relapse being obviously way better. I said right from the start, to justify your weak point.

The production on Relapse is fucking miles better. So is his voice.
His flow on some tracks is nasty as fuck.
The hooks are so fucking great. Especially on Dre's production. :flutter:
He clearly did what he wanted to do, he didn't give a shit about a label or anything.
No compromising.

This is why I like Relapse more.

Relapse is way better because Eminem did what he want to do and how he want to do, whereas Recovery was some kind of an "excuse" for making Relapse. Thats how I see it. I bet that Relapse 2 was going to be the pretty same thing as Recovery in terms of a concept, but with better beats, lyrics and overall sound. I'm thinking this way, because of Deja Vu. The fact of existence of a song like this means that he probably had loads of emotional material, and thats why Relapse 2 was gonna be the more serious album. But somehow it was scrapped. Why? To be honest, I cant believe that Eminem decided to do this by himself. Intrerscope wanted more money, more sales, more attention and asked him to do something different, to follow the trends a little bit. Plus all the hate Relapse was getting in this time played the key role. So, Recovery is a product of Interscope. Rushed product. It could had been much better if they allowed Eminem to do it like he wanted to do from the very beginning, but they didnt. They released Relapse:refill instead, and made people think that the whole Relapse thing was going to be just serial-killer type of shit, which is not like this at all, in my opinion.

I understand he shouldn't compromise, but the fact someone doesn't compromise does not automatically mean it is better.

And anyway, Relapse has Beautiful and Crack a Bottle. That screams compromise.

I just don't see how it's miles ahead. Deja Vu is an obvious highlight, from both albums (although GTC isn't far behind). But Crack a Bottle is a just-as-obvious lowlight.

The other thread (or was it this thread?) shows that people think songs like Insane and Stay Wide Awake are next level shit, which I just disagree with, so whatevs.

Relapse probably just gets the edge, if I had to choose with a gun to my head, but it's pretty much an insignificant edge in my mind.

Every album has mediocre songs. From SSLP to Recovery. And Relapse is not an exeption. But Relapse has the strong toehold, from 3 A.M up to Deja Vu. Recovery is like just a bunch of songs.

His first three albums definitely don't have shit songs, lmao.

Maybe average-ish (Under The Influence, Say What You Say, When The Music Stops, Drips), but definitely not below average.

Relapse has the blatantly shit Crack a Bottle that not even you could argue.

But Relapse has the strong toehold, from 3 A.M up to Deja Vu
I would not call that run a strong toehold. Insane, Old Time's Sake are below average tracks. Then you've got a bunch of average/forgettable tracks. Then you've got My Mom, SSAD, SWA, and Deja Vu sprinkled throughout.

Recovery is like just a bunch of songs.
What a fucking break through, everybody clap now.

I agree that Relapse is more cohesive, the main reason it gets the nod.

Agree about Crack a Bottle. It was even leaked, so i just dont understand why they put it on the album.

Insane is awesome track. And by saying "strong toehold" I meant the overall cohesive sound of the album and atmosphere of it.

Relapse isnt "more cohesive", it is "just cohesive". Recovery is not. So what the problem? What is better: something that has a certain style in every aspect or something absolutely fucking random which was created for pleasing Interscope Management?

Honest to GOD I personally think people who do drugs, and are a little bit older (like in their 20s or older) enjoy relapse more. No science behind it, I just personally think that's the way it is.

So, I should go do drugs to enjoy Relapse more? Fuck that album if that's true.

In that case, Yeezus > Relapse because it doesn't have a CAB/Beautiful/Underground.

Yeezus is very cohesive, oh but now there will be plenty of things more important than cohesion.

Stop this bullshit about CAB, Beatuiful and Undeground. This 3 songs dont mean shit when it comes to overall album quality. What the fuck is wrong with you? It's like comparing movies scene by scene.
