I'd say that classic album = impact, influence, quality (album "considered" as a great album).
For example, Reasonable Doubt wasn't even considered as a 5/5 album in the 90's, critics & fans thought that it was just another good/great album but that same album started to influence other artists and it's now full of timeless songs.
tbh
people say the term classic gets thrown around but the reality is people just don't care about these things and are quick to declare an album classic because of the personal impact it had on them, thereby "personal classics"
but lance, according to your definition, 808s & Heartbreak is a certified classic, amirite?
Trimss wrote:808 paved the way for Drake/Cudi so it was really influential but I wouldn't say quality wise it's a classic.

To the fans, he has 3 classic, 1 great album, 1 average (recovery), 1 bad (encore)
To Hip Hop Heads, Eminem is white and shit
We won't ever really "nail it"

Encore sounds worse than Kanye's cum being farted outta Kim's fat ass.
