Recovery easily could of benefited from tailored beats, instead of bought out of a pot - A calmed delivery, reserve the double time/yelling for special songs/moments - less punchline raps ..

If it would of delivered on those levels it probably could of been a MUCH better album.

I know we've gone through this same old conversatation numerous times, but don't you now think it was all deliberately dumbed down just to sell comercially?, Iovine must of been on the verge of ending this dudes contract tbh. His technically awe inspiring shit got him nowhere with relapse.

Relapse wasn't exactly godly to begin with, though.

Yep, he was struggling Tbh. I had to force myself to like it originally. he had no business making albums during them years if we're honest. He still had residing issues from the drugs and Proof
It's only this album that he truly came into his own, but whats done is done and they needed to happen in order for us to get to here

We are talking about Relapse... Recovery... I think I need to bring ENCORE to this debate Image

Just kidding, anyway... Recovery sucks. This is the simple way to put it. Recovery still has its few gems, but overall its production sucks, Eminem's delivery sucks, punchlines sucks. I don't know how anyone can like the album.

Refill is awesome and R2 would be perfection.

Yes.

That was when he started purchasing beats and using poppy features instead of from his own camp.

Aone10 said it right when he said Recovery had the right concept but had poor execution. I agree with that. If he had pulled off Recovery similar to how he did MMLP 2... Well then who knows where Em would be at now. We might not have even gotten a MMLP 2. For this reason I feel each of Eminem's albums/reception is important in his discography because they represent him as he matures and changes as an artist yet still stays true to his style. Each album kind of leads up/motivates Em to go in another direction or go back to another concept when he is making an album. Basically I'm saying Recovery was important in his discography even though personally I feel it is one of his worst albums. Recovery/its reception among hip hop fans was necessary for Em to change his stylistic direction and decide to go back to his roots with MMLP 2. It all worked out in the end.
