Illmatic probably scores the highest out of every rap album for me, the songs are all fantastic and it's cohesive. If anything I'd round the score up after averaging the track ratings. But it isn't my favourite. I think American Gangster is my fav atm.

I think the best songs on Illmatic are written as well as anything. Songs like sing for the moment and stan are pretty powerful if ur into that kinda thing tho
