Living Proof contains a James Brown sample

Postby Hiphopdane » Jan 8th, '11, 01:52

The first time I heard Living Proof I immediately thought of James Brown but couldn't figure out what song exactly. On my way to school this morning I heard Lyrics of fury with Rakim and it had the exact same sample (the drums) so I went home and searched for it. Thought I'd share, here it is:

Very dope find man! Is it definitely a Mr Porter produced track? For some reason I always had it as a Khalil track

It sounds closer to Khalil, for me, but if Mr. Porter produced it then :y:

Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

Mr. Porter is a great producer, "On Fire" is an album highlight.

I'd much rather hear a full Em / Porter collab album than another Em / Dre album.

He said that some time ago on his Twitter. I tried to find the tweet but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack :/

Yeah, Mr. Porter produced it. Great beat :worship:
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.
