Eminem could seemingly buy any sneaker he wanted to wear. Space Jam Jordans? No problem. He can afford it. Nike Air Mags? Throw ‘em in the bag! Deadstock Air Jordan II “The Way I Ams”? Eh, it’s safe to say he’s got a few pairs of those stashed away somewhere.
That being said, it’s kind of surprising that Em prefers to wear these. Yes, regularold Nike Air Max LTDs. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. In fact, the LTDs have become my personal go-to sneaker over the course of the last year or so. Once you get beyond the age of, say, 23 or 24, you start caring less and less about the super-rare sneaks you keep on your feet (real-life bills will do that to you!) and more and more about copping kicks that go with just about anything. And that’s what LTDs do. They go with anything and they’re comfortable, so you can wear them just about anywhere. Oh, and the relatively affordable price tag helps, too.
This week, Nike gave Slim Shady a birthday present by releasing a fresh new colorway of his favorite sneaks. Okay, so it wasn’t an official birthday present (and you should be glad—the price of these would have been through the roof it they really were for Em!) but they did drop just a few days after Em turned 39. The LTD “Wolf Grey/White” colorway is the latest colorway in Nike’s arsenal and, honestly, my favorite pair of LTDs to date. If you’re not an obsessed collector of Jordans or someone who likes to experiment with sneakers that feature bolder colors, a pair of these is a must-have for your closet
