When listening to Role Model in earphones...

...has anyone else noticed how loud that snare is? It's actually annoying, I always have to turn it down a little on my ipod cuz I think my right eardrum is about to burst everytime it hits. I've noticed on quite few Dre productions he always puts the snare at a higher volume than most, but Role Model is probably a little too high when you're wearing earphones. Anyone agree?

p.s. yes I'm fully aware that this is a very shit topic but oh well, there's fuck all else to talk about lately.

It's my favorite song off all time so I can't really complain about it. However now that you mentioned it, it does sound a bit louder than usual but I rarely listen to music on headphones so it's not a problem.

Yea I mean through any other device it's not a problem, just through earphones.

It's a subtle thing IMO. I guess it goes with the whole "stripped out" beat thing dre was doing for Em back then. Bu the reason why dre normally has a high sounding snare is because he uses a crash, hi hat, or shaker to compliment it so to make it stand out he raises the higher frequencies to give it that snap. It's a little producer trick he does in a lot of his beats.
